Default LSx/4L60e recommendations for an miata

I've narrowed my engine search down to the L33/4L60e or the LS1/4L60e.

From what I can tell about an L33, the front accessories are different and I'm not sure about the oil pan.

Examples on ebay--

~45K L33/4L60e goes for ~$2,400.00

~90K LS1/4L60e goes for ~$3,000.00

For the money and for ease of installation, which is better

(I've asked this question on miata.net also)

L33 is a 5.3L & you will probably need to swap the oil pan. Am not sure about accessory location clearance. I'd check the L33 accessory locations for clearance.

Ls1 is a 5.7L, as long as it's from an F-body (Camaro/Firebird; not Corvette), everything fits for sure.

If it were me, I'd take a serious look @ the L33. It's got enough power/torque for the Miata swap, is less expensive & has less miles. Although, I think you could do even better than $2,400.00 for an L33/4L60E. Just check accessory location/clearance & get an F-body oil pan.
