Default Salvage guy unsure, need LY6.

He gave me a vin of 1GCHC24KX8E211397. He thinks it's an LY6, it's definetly a 6.0L, but I don't want to drive several hundred miles away only to find out it's not the motor I want.
***This isn't the motor I posted about in my race truck thread***

That is an LY6 and is still available, just really far away.

Can anyone help me figure out if it this is an LY6? Thanks a lot guys!

easy, ask for visual confirmation.
heads need to read, 823, block needs to read GENIV 6.0
if heads read another 4 digit, which it might. still l92 heads.
Intake needs to be 90MM DBW.
Water pump needs to look different from others, if its vvt.
if hes interested in selling it, it wont take but few minutes to verify and snap pics.
i had 2 of those ***** at one time, i regret selling em

Yea, that's why I'm trying to get some confirmation and knowledge before I go make a mistake and buy an LQ4 or something I don't want.

Anymore tell-tell signs its an LY6? You guys have probably given me plenty of tips though, thanks everyone....again!

Should have a bigger TB 87 or 90 and will have the knock sensors on the side of the block and cam/VVT in the front. All the LQ4/9 had cam sensors in back of intake and knock sensors under it.

No, gave me wrong VIN. Still on the lookout for one with less than 40k, and less than $1600.00 if possible.

That would be the only way to go, he just seemed to agree with everything I asked and wasn't willing to answer a lot of detailed questions. I want to be damn sure before I drive 6+ hours one way! I'm still rounding up swap parts now and looking at options but I'm set on finding an LY6.

ask if the truck is the new body style or not. If it's the new body style, it's the LY6; if not, it's not.
