Default L33 lsx fd rx7

And so it begins...
I got a roller 1993 mazda Rx7 always dreamed of having a fd with some torque so now it's time.
After researching the various engine options in the LS family I settled on the aluminum block 5.3 L33, it makes good power 315 hp and with a simple Ls6 cam swap numbers have been reported as high as 366 hp, so I am going to take it a little farther go with a used thunder racing tr224 on 112 lsa cam. and some comp cams valve springs. I will be removing the truck intake for obvious clearance issues and replacing it with an Ls6 intake, I'm looking for a ported throttle body. i am using 28.8 fuel injectors with a stock rail. fuel system looks like the old fail safe corvette regulator and braided steel lines. I have a few details to work out yet such as the many wiring gremlins that exists with these swaps, cooling system. I am using a fairly new mounting kit made by samberg rod and custom, it replaces the entire subframe, removes the torque arm and solid mount the rear diff.

As soon as I figure out how to post pictures I will start posting them and won't stop until the cars done and can do a smokey burnout, I'll post videos as often as something entertaining occurs. so someone pm me and give me some advice on how to post pics, I will document every last detail of this project for future swappers, also a lot of great advice can be found at v8rx7forum.com

it is a good idea to mill heads if plan on using a 220+ duration cam with a 5.3
imo u should look at the lpe gt11 cam, i have used that cam in a 5.3 and a 6.0 and it pulls very hard in both motors. (6.0 is way more responsive obviously) but even in the 5.3 it was like night and day difference.

I'm running the LM4 5.3 with patriot 5.3 heads milled to 59cc, with a 222/230 114 cam. I'm using a thinner gasket as well to get the cr close to 10to1.

I have to do the wiring and exhaust on my swap(have no time to finish it, hence the reason for my for sale ad over on the v87 board).

Always loved silver.

I went with a ron davis radiator and a single speed taurus fan that I trimmed to fit. Looks almost factory.... It's a dual pass so the outlets are on the same side of the rad. freeing up space for a cold air kit......

Good luck!

sounds like a nice build to bad you have to sell, I chose the L33 for its higher compression and aluminum block. can't wait to get the subframe in.
