doesn't really matter as long as you don't have the bolts right now anyways and have to buy them from the stealership

I ran into the same situation. My 5.3 didn't come with a starter, so I am trying to find a used one also. Is it correct to assume that all LS starters will fit all the blocks (4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0) , it's just the bolt different that causes them to be different? I knew there was either 2 bolts the same length or 1 short and 1 long bolt set. Can anyone clarify this for sure? Thanks

Does anybody have an LS starter with 2 long bolts, since I've never seen one? The only starter that seems to be really special is the one for the GTO motors, if you're using the GTO bellhousing. If you do a search on car-part.com, it does ask, which starter and list differant ones, depending on which you chiose, but all of them I've seen have been one long and one short

My LQ4 starter came with two bolts the same length. So I assume that is two long bolts.

i'll have to look at my starter-i bought a junkyard one, then got the bolts from GM-one thing i rec. doing is pulling it apart, relub everything, makes a world of diff
the GM hi perf book lists 5 diff starters, but says ALL require 2 diff bolts,
#11588456, and #12561848
they list #10465385 as the starter for LS1, 2, 6, lq4, lq9, ls7
