Default alternator

i have burned out 3 alternators in 3 days can any one tell me why????? when i first install the alternator it pumps out 14 volts i go around the block and they quit???????i put a new one and same problem please help

What year PCM? How is the alt wire in? to the PCM or without the PCM?

Bad battery?? The wire from the alt to the batt grounding anywheres?? How does the car start??

the car runs perfect but dies when i remove the pos. battery cable. the alt has 4 wires gray brown blue from the connector and red to the starter selonoid. the pcm is off a 2003. thanks.

Did you ever remove the positive battery cable before? Removing the positive cable with the engine running can burn up the alternator.

even when the battery cable is connected the alternator doesnt charge i put my meter on it and i get 12 volts thats the power off my batt. i should get around 13-14 volts out of my alt

which alternator is this???a cs130?? maybe you need a resistor

I would start by having the alt tested, autozone, advance auto, etc will usually test it for free. There shouldn`t be wiring issues because the 2003 PCM controls the alt directly. Did it ever charge after the swap?

i found the problem. i had the acc. bracket powder coated , so the alternator was not getting a ground, i grounded it and now im getting 14 volt! thanks for all the help
