YOU WILL LOSE LOW END TORQ. Why do you want to change to a ls set up?

you will see a gain in hp over 5k rpm.

I would recommend the a ported ls2 intake(90 mm tb) this has proven gains of over 9 hp over a stock fast intake. Or go with a ls6 intake but the cost do not justify the gain.

I am also doing the ls2 intake. ls1 did not make sense to me the ls6 cost was high(sold the intake) and the ls2 seems to be the best bang for the buck. You can lso try a tbss intake just make sure its NOT for the l92 heads.

the ls6 is the best option. flows better than any other oe cathedral port manifold. even than the ls2 90mm tb. pay for it now and get that out of the way.

What else do you need to do to change from a truck intake? Wiring? What about pulleys or water pump?

if your running truck accessories then i think you have to grind part of the alternator bracket to clear the ls6 intake. havnt done it but i think i read it somewhere. Just for your info incase you didnt know the ls6 intake was only on the 01-02 ls1 and ofcourse the ls6 in the z06 vettes.

Car Intake will not fit with Truck Accessories..Water Pump gets in the way of part of the Throttle Body.

Car Intake kicks the **** out of the Truck Intake hands down..these Engines love RPM's..we aren't working with TPI's here.

Any year LS1 intake, rail, injectors will fit. The truck water pump outlet can be cut/modified to work with a manual TB but not the DBW TB. I've heard the newer escalade water pump outlets do clear. The steam outlet will need to be bent to clear the intake. There are dyno results comparing truck, LS1, LS6, and LS2 manifolds. With a stock LQ4, I doubt you would notice any difference under 5K rpm. Btw, the truck TB will work with the LS1, 6, but not the LS2 manifold.
LS1 manifold on LQ9 in my 68 vette, I used an LS1 water pump with the truck pulley to clear the TB.

U can use a vette/f-body wp, and a set of 3/4" spacers for the LS1/6 intake. This allows the truck accessories to be retained. You can cut off the boss that the idler bolts to, & move the idler over w/ a Speartech idler relo brkt. Done deal.
