Default Another LSX Notch!! Got a few questions...

Hey I have been gathering parts for my LSX 1989 mustang notch build lately and have a few questions for you guys. I've already got the entire front end(aje k-member, a-arms, coil overs, manual rack) and I have a 2000 ls1 engine that I want to put a vic. jr. intake on with my 750hp carb. What flex plate do I need to get to put a 400 turbo or powerglide tranny in? I have been told I need to order a 2000 6.0L flexplate because it comes with a spacer that I will need. Is this right and is there only one that will work? Also I know there are different versions of the 400 turbo which one do I need(short tail shaft) and what about the drive shaft? I have access to a 400t and a powerglide both needing built but are only $75. If anyone has a used vic. jr, msd 6010, kooks lsx headers, or a flexplate set-up they want to sell feel free to chime in. Thanks in advance!!

there are other plates such as the hughes. but the gm parts are the easiest to use and generally lower priced, but are not sfi approved. if plan on turning hi rpm should look into the sfi parts..

Ok, is there a specific flexplate as far as a gm part or will any of the auto Ls flexplates work with the old tranny's and what is the spacer for? Thanks for the help.

When I bought my Coan trans and convert I bought an aftermarket flex plate that was made for the application. No spacer needed. It was made to fit as one piece. Its a nice part too.

Thanks, the info helps. I guess I'm going to use the turbo 400, I talked to the tranny shop today and told em' what i was doin. They recommended the 400 since I'm sprayin. I just have to decide on a converter now.
