Default 2010 Lacrosse LS swap?

Anyone have any idea if an LS3 swap will be possible on the new Lacrosse? I love the car, but it is very underpowered for what I am used to. I am reluctant to supercharge it or add a turbo until I know a lot more about the engine. So, the short answer would be to do a swap. Otherwise, I'll probably just go with the new Lexus IS-F.

Honestly, I'd get the Lexus; you'll have many less issues in your brand new car with that setup, and have something better sorted, vs. a swapped 2010 Buick.

Don't buy a Jap car I am sure it can be done. You must have some resources if you are considering that swap. Maybe you can buy a total and start from there that way you don't have the super high inital buy in.

i assume yours is a 3.6 or 3.8 liter? well considering you can get a ls6 headed 5.3 (ls4) in the lacrosse from the factory then why didnt you just do that. I dont think an actual ls3 will bolt right in due to the front drive 5.3 block being different but a cammed LS4 would make a ton of power. So sell the v6 one and get one with a LS4 already. just my .02

^ not anymore. 09 you could get the LaCrosse Super with the 5.3 but on the 10 the 3.6V6 is the top dog.

I don't know. I've heard plenty of good things about the IS-F. Apparently, it is in M3 territory and can hold it's own.

Yum! I'm with disposing of the heavy buick and getting the IS-F if it is in your pocket book to do so!

It doesn't come with a V8 anymore. That is the whole point of this discussion. I'd lean towards AWD so, I'd be stuck with a 3.0L 255HP engine. Just not enough to be an option in my book. I'd have to believe the LS engine would fit in that engine bay, but I may be wrong. Like I said, Ill probably end up with the IS-F and then see where things go. That way I can drop a twin turbo in it after a couple of years and it will feel like a totally new car.

Why not stay GM and go with a G8 GTP or a Caddy CTS-V. Any car with fake exhaust outlets worked into the rear bumper is Eehhhh no.

I like the look of the 2010 with the upgraded interior and better exterior styling. THe 2009 just doesn't cut it.

I looked at the CTS-V, another good option.

I'll take a car that has engine upgrade potential, but I want at least 450HP.

I came across this with the same idea! Take a beautiful lacrosse and add the power the beautiful car deserves! Someone out there should make it happen! Obviously it will take a bit of fab work and some how to, but it's doable!

The Lacrosse is FWD. There is not a single FWD transaxle that will handle an LS3 for more than a day.

LS3 will not bolt up to transaxle at all
it has the V6 pattern
The LS4 has the V6 tranaxle bolt pattern.
LS4 also has a shorter crank by 10mm to fit in the FWD cars

LS3 = SBC bellhousing
LS4 = Gm Metric bellhousing
3.6L = GM high feature bellhousing

All 3 are different, but that is what adapter plates are for.

Does any of this really matter in this 10 year old pipe dream thread???? The car in question was brand new when this thread was made, so wasn't a huge chance of any of it ever happening ...

Do you think I could swap the 5.3 Ls into my Lucerne with the northstar
