LOL When I thought of it I never noticed the "LS1" until I wrote it down. When I saw it had LS1 in it I liked it even more and was the ultimate reason I went with it.

PAINT:

Went to the body shop today and took some more pictures. The work is progressing well. As you can see the door jams, hatch, under hood and seems are complete and the car is back together. All that is left is some more sanding and then into the spray booth it goes.

Flash on...

Flash off...

Nice prep work, looks like you are spending money in all the right places. I still can't believe some moron painted that car in the first place...

I know. It is funny because on the history report I got when I bought the car the color change shows up at under 300 miles. LOL

So does that mean the guy bought it because they didn't have one in the color he wanted and immediately had it painted? lol

I'm about to inherit a 93 rx-7 with only 24k on the clock and since I'm a chevy guy this whole ls swap idea in them is starting to look very interesting to me. I'm putting an l33 in my chevelle as we speak, but it could always be moved to an rx-7 and replaced with a 6.0 haha

Yup, that is exactly what happened.

Good luck with your project. That is exactly what I did. I bought the RX-7 knowing I would be doing this swap one day although I have to say I was very impressed with the stock rotary motor. With about $1000 in mods it was running 12.5@109mph and was reliable for the 2 years before I took the motor out and sold it.

So I pick up the car on Tuesday. I may go on monday to take some pics before they put everything back together and then hopefully end of next week I will get some nice photos of the car to post them up. I'll try to get some videos up too.

PAINT:

The car has been painted and man this is going to take some getting used to. LOL Weird seeing it a different colour but once all the moldings, emblems, skirts etc. go on I think I will be very happy with the look. Looks like the car will be ready about Thursday now.

These will be the last pictures before the car is 100% complete and I do a proper photo shoot of the car.

Here you can see the new spoiler, the vents, one of the mirrors and the headlight covers...

You can't see the true nature of competition yellow mica in any of the pictures I took (other than the difference in sheen in the 4th picture above on the rear pumber where the sun is hitting it) so I tried to take one that shows how it actually looks. It didn't come out that great but it gives a better idea. This is with the flash off...

Yup, you either hate or love yellow. I generally only like yellow on higher end cars like Lambos and Ferraris but have to say that CYM has always been my favorite color on the FD.

There was a bit of a delay and I wont be picking it up until mid next week or so. The problem is I will be back to work next week from 5 weeks vacation and not sure where I am going to find the time to finish everything up (install/complete a bunch of little odds and ends, wheel alignment, e-test etc). I'll do my best to finish everything up and take pics/video as soon as possible.
