70 Camaro 4L60E help
I am in the process of gathering parts to install my LY6/4L65E into a 70 Camaro RS. I am in need of a picture of the reverse light switch and neutral safety switch. Bare in mind, I bought this car as a project/basket case, so I have no idea how a Th350/400 reverse/neutral switches look or mount.
Do the switches mount differently on the "horseshoe" shifters (70-73) or any 70-81 F-body switches work?
thanks,
Jim

On some 70's Camaros the combination reverse and neutral safety switches are at the bottom of the steering column. The shifter cable moves the transmission selector which is also connected to the column by a rod that locks the shifter when the key is off. The backup lights wires are pink and green 16 gauge and the neutral safety switch wires are 12 gauge purple and purple with a white stripe. My Chevelle had that switch on the shifter (Horseshoe similar to the Camaro). A good place to look for pictures of the actual switch is on Autozone or Advance auto parts website. I am willing to bet your switch is at the bottom of the steering column.
