Default ly6 alt ?

anyone know what the stock amp is for buying a replacement alternator. Part number would be great--tried to buy from parts store but elec plug was smaller than my harnesws plug---don't have th original to compare.... thanks

The current rating of the alternator is normally determined by the vehicle it is in. The more electrical accessories, the higher the current rating. Anything 100 amps or higher would be more then adequate for most swap vehicles. I can remember when 60 amp alternators were the highest output you could buy

afaik the LY6 comes with a 185 amp alternator.
