Default PCM mounting options

What mounts are you guys using to mount your late LS1 PCMs in your engine bay? I understand that the S-10 mount is popular, but that it only works on 1998-02 PCMs.

Has anyone tried the later 2-piece C5 Corvette mounts?

Thanks -Dave

I'm not entirely sure... I found a few threads where people talk about them being a good PCM mount for 1998-02 LS1 PCMs, but all of the pictures they posted are gone.

I was hoping to get some guys to post up what OEM mounts they're using so we can see dome of the different ways to mount the PCMs.

I've seen the van mount - I think the plastic sleeve has tracks on the back of it... did you slide those tracks into something or did you just mount the plastic sleeve that holds the PCM?

Here are some drawings (from GM Parts Direct) of the '03 van PCM mount and the '04 Corvette PCM mount, which seems to be two pieces.

I'm tempted to by both and see which ones work best.

Any other pictures/input?

Those are to mount 2 totally differant PCMs or somebody needs to learn how to draw, since I did look it up and both those aplications should have the same case. By the way the S10 mount should fit all the PCM's that take the 2 80 pin connectors.

Anyone have the part numbers or a link to the S10 mount? I need to order some stuff from GM parts direct and want to include this mount.

98 mount is different than 99 and up for F-body, I had to buy both to figure that out......

I made some "L" brackets for mine and screwed the to the sides of the mount and then mounted it under the dash.....

I used a s-10 mount, cut the bottom mounting tabs off. then bolted it to a peice of strap metal that was then mounted to my trans tunnel.. I just used the PCM mounting part of the mount.

I would say just use any mount that the PCM will accept and secure it, then just mod it...as the mount is only designed to work for the the car/truck it was designed for and is not going to be a perfect bolt on in the 1st place.

I got mine off eBay used from a seller s10partswarehouse

Hope this helps, it looks like it can be modified for a variety of applications

That looks better than what I'm using. GM Parts Direct has them for $12 but they wanted $15 to ship it - AND it's a special order part so no returns if it doesn't work! I may go to my local GMPP dealer where they match GMPP's prices and know me a little too well to see what they say.

What year PCM are you using and does it fit ok? I found some people using it and they had pics but I don't have any idea what PCM or car it is for. Mine is a 2000 truck and my PCM looks very similar to the pics I found below. I assume this is for a Grand Prix since the site is called club GP...

I haven't checked the fit but my 2004 silverado Truck PCM looks real similar to the PCM that's on my 2000 S10. I should have my silverado PCM back in a few days from the programmer.

I need a bracket too. 02 "411" PCM here, will it fit in the S10 bracket?

Not sure but I did some searches on eBay for S10 and Silverado PCM and both came up with the same "411" PCM number.

I'm pretty sure it's the same PCM physically.

My 411 PCM fit the S10 bracket - in fact it fits so well I don't know why the hinged wire piece is even necessary. One of the plastic edges is angled and you may have to grind it down for it to lay flat - not a big deal. -Bob

BTW, I wound up using the C5 Corvette PCM mounting brackets. It is a compact 2-piece setup that sandwiches the plug-side of the PCM. It is very versatile. You can see some pictures at my website:
