Default 4.11 Gears

How are those 4.11 gears working out? Some guy's running with 4.08 find first gear basically useless and second not much better. I would be interested to hear about your experience.

1st gear is fairly usless for daily driving, but for your get up and go its amazing if you keep your traction. with the 4.11s it makes the gear ratios very tight you can keep it in 4th pretty much all the time even when slowing down to 10 mph or less to make turns I like them, I definetly would not go HIGHER but backing down a gear would still keep me happy.

with the t-56 and 4.11s it makes for a great combo.

rpms are still very resonable at interstate speeds

Default 4.11 Gears

Thanks for the update. I think I am going to go with 3.55s to try and make a more civilized daily driver. I think stock runs around 3.42 or less.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the heater hose return your mechanic modded totally bypass the thermostat on it's return from the heater core? And isn't it the heater hose return responsible for proper thermostat operation?

Default Earlier Vette differential mounting

hi! Nice build! When you replaced the center section,
did have to change the “Aluminum back brace/mount”? Or did you have to fab new half shafts/ mounts? Just curious as to wether you used the ‘82 pieces in addition to the cast iron center section.
thanks!
Ben Smith
