My 67 camar0 LS1/4l60 swap thread
#261
Hey, I haven't posted this on my build yet, except a little on page 3, but some important info about those a-arms: I ordered and installed mine in December.
1)The ball joints are junk. All of the rubber around mine are already dry rotted and this will allow dirt to get in there....
2)Make sure those pot metal bushings are flush. 2 of mine were not. I had to remove them and sand them to be flush. If this isn't done, they will surely crack. They are still weak.
3) Run a grade 8 washer outside the pot metal bushing incase it fails as a catch.
Overall, I still like the arms, but they need some attention. BTW, I haven't been to the alignment shop yet.

Nice... I just finished up a project myself - gotta love going to Sebring and blowing out a rear tire and rim 700 miles from home! LOL!
Well at least I think I am done with mods before PT!

Finished front brakes
Old and new..
Waiting on the SFI flexplate
Recommended draining method
To disable the perp valve function of the dis block so my adjustable one would work
Removing the rear fitting
Needlenose pliers to remove the "guts"
and its out!
Put it back together leaving these parts out..

Still happy, and now that I changed rear tire size.. all I need to do is hit some switches and my speedo's fixedI like the cable x for its ajustability..if you can leave your combo alone (I never can) then either would work for you.

I had 3 of the 4 Comp Grey wheels, and was missing one front.
I ordered a new OEM speedline from Bob @ House of Wheels - I had it painted locally and I bolted it on the car Friday night before a big show here in Charlotte.
Not sure if it was the new wheels - but I won Best Modified in my Vette club... LOL!

still waiting on my SFI flexplate (should ship monday) so I added new 6x9's/baffles and an amp for them (the 600W baja was in there for the 12" sub already).. and installed/wired up the MSD boost refrenced fuel pump voltage booster. I should be able to hear the stereo over the open windows at 90... pardon the dusty trunk

The new trans rocks, the 2-3 shift is now super crisp and the LS1 brakes are lightyears ahead of what I had. WIN!
SFI flywheel vs. Stock
New trans going in!
Thirsty!
After the victory drive!
