Unpinning connectors? GT - Weatherpack?

Unpinning connectors? GT - Weatherpack? I've got a GMPP harness with a DBW pedal. I need to unpin the wires and remove the connector so I can pass the harness through the firewall. Problem is I've tried using a pushpin or a paperclip and they don't come loose. It's making me feel stupid hahaha
Anyone have a hint on how to temporarily remove the wires from the plug housing on a DBW harness? I believe this is referred to as a GT connector?
I've pulled a lot of electrical connectors apart in the past, but this one is making me cautious.

Not sure what the wiring "spec" is on that connector. I have a Weatherpak tool and a Metripak tool. The WP tool looks like a ballpoint refill and slips over the pin, compressing the tang. The MP tool is a bit harder to use. It's pointed like an awl, but ground flat on one side. You stick it into the shell, wiggle it around while saying your choice of "prayer"...

You don't need any special tool.
Just pop the purple secondary lock off the back side, and the purple cover off of the face (remove them completely) Then you will see the little plastic tabs that hold each terminal in. Just use a paperclip or small jewelers screwdriver to lift up on the plastic tab, and the terminals will slide out the back of the connector.

gofastwclass I have that tool it doesn't fit in the holes on the front cover of those connectors, Jones'n way works the best, but I sometimes use that tool to lift the tab, after the front cover is off

True, but I found this and it's two brothers in a set for $20, which I couldn't pass up since it had the other tool (yellow handle) for the PCM connectors with it.
I've used the method you described and got a bit heavy handed and damaged the terminal which creates more work than using the right tool.

damnit, it really is that easy. I just did it. I have some dental tools too! I used the heavy angled scraper to get under the lip of the cover and it gentally popped loose. After that it was a simple to get between the crimp and retainer then pry.

I realize I'm reviving an ancient thread here, but need to know what those tiny connectors are named so I can order some for my harness.
