They put the collector in that location for trans clearance and so the collecor dosnt hang down.

Better than many things I have bought in the past.

ya but , what good is that if you cant run an exhaust system ?

shortening the header collector is going to change the way it performs .
i'VE read atleast 5 guy's that have ran into this...but nobody has replyed with the outcome ..

How does it make a diff if the 3" pipe that connects to it is 10" diff. As long as the muff are the same distance from the exh vavle.

I did get the steering shaft to somewhat work, but its still not 100% clearing. I was unable to get a hold of dynatech today, although I do believe they tried calling me back but I was unable to answer.

If you pry on the shaft towards the drivers side, it WILL move. Also the column collapses in the event of a collision, well the column will also extend some. I extended it as much as it would.
Prying it over and extending it out, it is now in the position in the pictures. It still very slightly rubs on the header. I believe dynatech is going to have to move the #7 primary in towards the drivers side. I will let you guys know what I hear when I talk to them again.

And I wasn't too concerned with the collector hitting the trans mount as I am not using the stock trans location, but I will bring this up when I talk to dynatech again. I don't see a problem with chopping it back some and routing the exhaust around the crossmember, but your right we shouldn't be having these issues. I'm sure they will make it right.

You won't have the problem we had. Yours is a SN-95, and thats what these headers were originally designed on. So yours should be good.

But yes, I am super happy with dynatechs customer service. As soon as they found out I had an issue they were looking into the problem. None of that "We'll call you back sir" Bull **** you get from other companys.

Just keep us posted when you get the problem resolved cause I got a set but haven't got that far yet. I am also running a powerglide too so hopefully I won't have the problem with the collectors. I am also running the flamming river rack and steering shaft so hopefully that helps me out.

Guys

I just spoke with Greg at Dynatech and he asked that I post that if you are having steering shaft issues please contact him. They will corrrect the issue on a case by case basis.

The fox cars are the ones with the issues and they have a car in the shop and the fix is in the works as I type.

I was on the phone with him for about 15 min and problem was taken care of.

Tim
