Default Blew the head gaskets on my LT thinking of an LS swap now!

well i blew the head gaskets on my LT1 about a month ago, and i've been thinking instead of fixing the gaskets maybe i should swap an LS1 or an LQ motor in which i really wanted to do from the start. I've got about $2500 to play with and I'm trying to price everything out for the swap seeing that i can get a motor for pretty cheap out here in LA. So how bout it, think it would be a good idea, or even the sufficient funds?

lol...come on man there just head gaskets...$2500 will give you nice upgrades on the lt1......ls1 will be good too,but if im not mistaking you will need to get trans, or tranfer case and pcm...

yeah the parts are the killer, pcm, harness, kmember, etc.. but ive always wanted to put an 6.0 or LS1 in a LT car and im just reallyweighing options and trying to get a dead on decision on if i should build the LT or just throw a lq4 in, in due time, and im leaning more to the 6.0 if i get all the prices down lol

I really doubt you can do it for $2500. If you go the 6.0L route you may get the motor cheaper but you then need to get the LS1 intake, injectors, front drive accessories, wiring harness, oil pan and pick up tube. Then find k-member, mounts, steering rack and shaft. Get the wiring modified to work in your car. Being a 94 auto or manual you'll need to change the transmission too.

Don't get me wrong I love my swap but it cost me around $5K and I reused my trans. Details are in my sig.

383s are not cheap either. Why not replace the gaskets then sell the car and buy what you want?
