For some "odd" reason, that is the only quick connect fitting that isn't leaking

From what I'm seeing here, it is pretty much hit and miss whether they work worth a damn

I'll look into the Corvette feed line and see whether it will be usable at the fuel rail. Without a lot of reworking, I can't use one at the fuel regulator(is the inside hose diameter 3/8" )

The fuel pump is a E8248 fuel pump which I think has a 3/8" barbed outlet.

It shouldnt be leaking because any pressure on it will be minimal

The feed side see's 60psi

So what other safe options are there since I can't seem to find the corvette line, and even if I did, how would you flare your hard line for the quick connect flair? I was going to order Summits version of those Russell quick connects, but am now not so sure......

I'm using the blue-red Russell fitting like this at the fuel rail and so far no issue.

Did you push it on with excessive force?

Either way, great idea about safety wire. I'll be tying safety wire around mine after seeing this, for some redundancy. Thanks for posting this.

Brent.

As far as I know, I didn't install with excess force. The one at the fuel filter/regulator is the only one that I could get a real good grip on to break in that method.

There are nice flaring tools that can make the 3/8" tube girdle Too bad they cost $150+. But they are very nice to use

I had to *REALLY* push mine on before it 'clicked'. Gave it a pull test. I am using the blue fittings.

Crossing my fingers that it doesn't pop off like yours did.

Default russel fittings

I used those fittings on my set-up without any issues, 2 3/8 and 1 5/16.

It it by chance the black fittings that are causing more problems than the blue/red fittings?

One of mine was black, the other was a blue. Both separated as my picture showed.

Mine seemed to be pretty tough to slide on when dry... a little too tough for plastic fittings imo! I pulled them back off and used a little bit of lithium grease on the tubing before sliding the fittings on. Worked great. Passed the pull test and holds pressure just fine.

Default No problems with my black ones

Guys

I will say they required quite a bit of force to push on, and if you don't have them properly centered prior to applying the force, I would imagine you could easily screw up the plastic fittings. Just my two cents of course, but mine worked fine, have put only 10 miles on though.

+1

Lubricate the tubing (especially at it's end) before sliding the fitting on. I used engine oil. A dry o-ring could snage and get mangled otherwise.

Default quik disconnect fittings

in my swap i used russel AN fittings with the corvette regulator/ filter. no leaks. i spent around $200 to plumb my entire system + $180 on the regulator. that includes tranny lines, power steering, and fuel lines. those plasitc peices looked flimsey.

You seriously got ripped for the regulator. Parts stores stock it for <$50 with several threads popping up with deals on them for <$30

Agreed, you did get ripped off. I can pick up the filter for $37 all day here in town. My russel fittings didnt leak at all and im actually planning on using some more on another couple swaps. Hopefully somethings will be proven either wrong with design or installation before hand. Hate to see a bunch of money lit on fire for a little fitting.

The rest of my system doesn't leak just the russel 3/8" push lock fittings.

What parts did you use on the inlet/return side of the regulator? Those don't look like the russel ones I broke.

On the outlet side of my regulator, I made a male push lock out of a roll of 3/8" tube
