The ls9 gaskets are a 7 layer mls gasket, they're a common upgrade among forcedinduction guys since they were designed for a supercharged application and been proven over and over again. There is no problem using the head studs, no bore distortion. Just thread them inand torque the nuts to spec. 80 ft/lbs I believe. Good luck.

Season over, and time for proper engine rebuild.

Suggestions for pistons and rods?

I´m going to keep CR over 10:1, still planning to run track races sometimes, and then without charger belt.

I would get CP bullet series pistons from my sponsor, but some say that 1st ring is too high in piston for boost? CP catalog says that some pistons are meant for boosted aplications, some not, which to believe...

I´m going to keep CR over 10:1, still planning to run track races sometimes, and then without charger. But again, im running on RE85 so high cr won´t matter.

We did quick engine rebuild at summer. LS9 headgaskets, arp head studs, comp retrofit trunnion kit for rockers, comp pushrods and adjustable timing kit.

Two of original connection rods had disorted, they were bit shorter than rest, just replaced with used ones at that point. And camgear was about to go off, luckily those head gaskets blew.

This one´s still alive

This winters project was building proper engine. We did some fast engine build last summer, but now upgrade rest of it.

Wiseco Professional series 4.070" pistons.
Callies Compstar 6.125" connection rods
LS7 lifters
And Melling Hi-volume oilpump.

Rest of engine specs will stay the same, and that is:
LS3 crate engine
-ARP 8740 main stud kit, 234-5608
-ARP 8740 Head stud kit, 234-4317 ***
-LS9 head gaskets, 7layer MLS
-Lunati 21460702 cam, .050 227/238, .583"/.600"
-Lunati 73925K1 valve spring kit, 379 lbs./in ***
-COMP Cams double roller adjustable cam chain kit 7105
-COMP Cams GM LS Series Retrofit Trunnion Kit 13702
-COMP Cams Chromo pushrods 7955-16 ***
-Summit SFI balancer, 8-rib
-Paxton Novi 2200SL supercharger
-ECS abrackets for above
-Ev14 1300CC injectors, E85
-Holley LS Hi-Flow fuel rails

Also will be upgrading clutch, i´ve had Clutchmasters FX500 now 5 years. That amazing single disc clutch holded 700hp/900nm and several abuse. So i´m sticking with the brand.

Now clutcmasters FX850 with steel flywheel. Looks so pretty...

Engine has been diaasembled, now in machinery shop and waiting for parts.
I´ve have been working my other -70 Charger this winter, pure streetcar but think that it can be skidded when done.
Currently fitting engine and gearbox...

Bit of progress with this. Over half of Finnish drift season now driven and it´s been now working nicely And few trophies also added to collection.

For this season we did tubular front end for Camaro, for easy maintenance and collision repairs. And rebuilded engine with forged internals, spec sheet was pretty much what i speculated earlier. Raised boost a tad and ->

After that dynotime i did do new exhaust. 2x3" instead of 2x2.5", with x-pipe. Boost raised from 0.8 to 1.0bar and power ~825hp/ bit over 1000nm

"

We have had time to even film something in races. More later but couple gopro vids for now, mostly chase runs. First one from Finnish national series Round 4, placed second. .

Other from NEZ Championship Finnish round, dropped in second elimination round there. Against current Estonian champion, no major mistakes but not my best driving.

If pics or video don´t appear, go check. Or go check and like it anyway I´ll try to post more stuff there also in english. Maybe something interesting otherwise too...
