Default t56 hard to go on reverse

hello guys i'm in the middle of an e36 m3 lsx conversion, the project is almost complete, i just need to finish the cooling and exhaust, my problem is i'm using a pcm harness that came from an automatic corvette, and its super hard to get the car on reverse and keep it from popping out of reverse, any info as how to wire the tranny so the reverse lockout solenoid can work, any info or opinion is appreciated thanks in advance for the help

You can put in a push button with power and ground on the dash or hook up a relay to energize the lockout off of the brake switch. I have mine off my brake switch. The lockout is more for downshifting under power than for braking. That you have to have your foot on the brake pedal to put it in reverse.

Did the same in my 89 toyota truck. Just ran one wire to the switch and the other directly to ground, works fine.

i found a post were someone pulled out the solenoid and just replace the spring with one with a lower spring rate, you will still have resistance but can be done with one hand

I just used a Hurst Line Lock button to activate the lock out so that I could shift into reverse. But using the brake switch is also good.
