Default Assist w/push-on fuel rail fittings please

The fuel system is all set up including braided line, Corvette filt/reg, and Russell 640850 (3/8) & 640860 fittings. No matter the method, I haven't been able to make the fittings stay connected to the flares.
Do these things require alot of force? I'm trying to avoid breaking something.
Thanks.

What do you mean connected to flares?

I can only guess you're talking about the adapter fittings. The o-rings inside the fittings are pretty tight. If you push them on dry you will cut/distort the o-ring

I had to lube the "male" end with some assembly lube and then pushed the "female" (socket) on until it clicked in place

Jonathan...."What do you mean connected to flares?"

The Russell fittings should snap in place over the Corvette reg flare (or any other flare). The fittings don't come with an o-ring, they have an internal plastic piece.
These parts have been used many times by members, that's why I decided to use this method.

They do have o-rings inside, that's how they seal and I agree that they need some lube to slide on without possbly damaging the o-rings. They usually slip right on and the plastic retainer clips over the raised part of the line.

used no lube on mine, went right on. Are you using the right size? the reg is 5/16" return and 3/8" in and out. Mine came with the o-rings already in them.

Mine came with the O-rings in there. I tried one without lube and it went with lot of grunting. Much easier to spit in there and slip it on. One small note, but sure the plastic retainer is inside the fitting when you push it on. They have a tendency not to latch when sliding the fitting over them

...and so did I. A little moly lube-not too much so that the lube didn't enter the tubing. Not sure that if some got in there, that the gas wouldn't/would dissolve it.
Well, the lube worked just fine, thank you--except for the two fittings on the gas tank (3/8 & 1/4). I'm gonna try warming the Russell fittings, then try to push them on. If that doesn't work, I'll try cooling the fittings.

I haven't seen a 1/4" fitting like these. Might want to double check what you have going on....they normally slide on with no issue at all...done hundreds of them

Russell part #641300 (1/4")
The gas tank is 3/8" supply & 1/4" return.
I had some concern that 1/4" return would not be enough, but John @ Speartech said no problem.
Trying to push these on from under the car has proven trying because the fuel lines are angled and somewhat fragile.
In restoring this vehicle, there have been numerous non-conformities, and I wouldn't be surprised if the tank lines are not what they were advertised.
Just part of the scenery, I have found!
