Default f body brakes on 67 chevelle

I just got my 67 chevelle convertible with ls1 running and am interested in putting four wheel disk brakes off of a 2000 f body on it.I did some searching and cant find good info on this.What is involved in this?Does it work out good?Where is the best sorce for brackets and parts you will need? Anyone done this on their 66-67 chevelle?

There is a kit that will work for either drum or disk brake spindles... I am doing the same for my 71 Nova.. You can find the kit on Ebay (Just search on "LS1 Brakes")... The kit I picked up had everything you need to install the brakes. (bracket, new bearing, nuts, bolts, etc) for the Front of my drum spindles. The rear just requires a 1/4" spacer.

Will not know how will it is until I get the project down. But I have mod'd everything up and is should work out ok.

kore3.com has everything you need. I dont think we have any sponsors doing a kit.

I am running a c5z06 set up. front are ats spindles.

speedtech is the other it will all depend on your budget. Low $$ it to machine a front drum hub and get a bracket.

We have the brake bracket kit to install the LS1 brakes (both front and rear) on that car. We are currently working a new kit that includes brand new rotors, calipers and brackets.

I used the BRP brackets about a year ago to swap the front brakes from a 2000 Camaro to the front of my 66 GTO drum brake car. Used another BRP bracket to swap 2000 Chevy Blazer rear disk brakes to the rear of the GTO. Brackets worked great, and resulted in a great stopping car for a very low cost.

I haven't installed any of it yet but I have the BRP rear adapters, the front adapter I got from Rich Hoag on Pro-touring forum and the brakes are from a 02 camaro.

Iv'e got the brake setup off a 2000 camaro that I want to put on the chevelle.This swap lookto be the best brakes for the money that you can get.My only hold up right now is the fact that my 15 inch ralleys wont fit back on the car after the brakes are installed.Guess I'll have to wait till I can spend the $18-$ 2000 dollars for the 17-18's that I really want.I thought I might get them back on for a while with wheel spacers,but I tried it on a trans am and it just ain't happening.

i know that it looks like im a noob and dont know anything but it has been my experience that those vette calipers will fade quickly under racing conditions. as for spirited driving on the road this looks like a great solution just dont trust them for track days.

I think a 69-73 corvette setup is a bolt on from spindle out.

Thats what I was told by members on another forum. They also said that they tend to flex during heavy braking. I wanted to go with c6zo6 brakes but needed 18in rims so decided not to, instead I will be going with wilwood's with 12" rotors, 4 piston calipers and shouldn't need any extra brackets I believe. IIRC, the Wilwood's rotors are actually 12.19" as opposed to the ls1 fbody rotors of (correct me if I'm wrong)12.25" which is not much of a difference. The price is just about the same and I can just order brake lines, mc, and booster that are compatible with the brake kit.

You might want to try using LT-1 4th gen rears(93-7)
I fit 15s on mine with minor filing of a couple fins on caliper.

15" rally's will fit with LS1 Camaro brakes. Slight caliper and wheel clearancing and a 5/16 spacer. Id pick Kore3 over anyone.

I would like to make this work with the ralley's for awhile anyway.I tried one on my 99 transam with5/16 and even 7/16 worth of washers for a trial fit and it hit bad so I didn't think it would work.Have you done this?Looks like it would take a lot of clearenceing.

What needs to be taken off a 98-02 in order to make this setup work? Just calipers, pads and rotors? And get the adapter bracket?
Should one try to get entire spindle assembly and all hoses?

Anybody know exactly what's needed to pull of the F-body, and what's included in either the BRP or Kore3 kit? I've got a chance to get the brakes off a 99 Camaro SS and am trying to figure out exactly what parts I need to grab in order to make these work on my 69 GTO.

here is what I did to my 70 Chevelle. I usr BRP adapter plate for the rear and front.

you'll need the backing plates off the F-body car and all the caliber and bracket off the front and rear. I have mine install but then I put the project on hold.

you can use the stock spindle but have to machine it or BRP will send you a pair abd you have to send your in after you done the swap.

You can use KORE3 if you have a deep pocket. I bought everything from a F-body for $150 and $39 for the rear spacer from BRP
