Default $400 Tailshaft adapter a MUST!!!??? What the?

I'm looking to buy a 4L60e to sit behind my LQ9. Looks like I "need" this adapter to make my speedo work? expensive unit too? I'm pricing them at $400? Is that about right? Should I have kept my 700R4??? It was a hughes too!!! Shifted hard...nice 1st to 2nd gear chirps all day!!! Could I have kept just the converter? I think not but I'm not for sure?(BTW...I Really Tore Into My ZZ4) Everything Must Go

Thanks Peoples

I'm using my 700r4 and convertor behind my 4.8 truck motor in my 89 suburban. you can add a dakota digital vss on about anything to run the computer, speedo, etc.
