its all about money

if they really care about the air, we should be legal with any engine as long as it passes the sniffer

If it were only that simple or easy.

On the noise, there are plenty of laws on the books already for loud exhaust.

Plus removing or disabling any smog equip is $5000 per item on any vehicle (in Ca)

It would be nice if F'ckin California would actually pay their State debt created by the bills they pass. Bunch of dead beats...pay your State debt, then pass bills that spend more money. Can't wait for the faults that run North to South through the State of California to dump it's debt ridden *** into the Pacific.

I found some more bad news. Not only did the number of readiness monitors change but now they have also lowered the emissions standards across the board.

Quote:
"Hey guys im seriously thinking about giving up on trying to pass smog, I just dont think it's possible. I recently noticed California lowered the limits for emissions for the FD's in the past 4-5 months

NEW LIMITS as of 6-24-2010:

HC's (PPM)---61 MAX@15 mph
HC's (PPM)---37 MAX@25 mph

CO (%)---0.36 MAX@15 mph
CO (%)---0.35 MAX@25 mph

OLD LIMITS as of 1-12-2010:

HC's (PPM)---88 MAX@15 mph
HC's (PPM)---53 MAX@25 mph

CO (%)---0.52 MAX@15mph
CO (%)---0.50 MAX@25mph

The first time I passed smog back in 2008 my HC's were at 46 and CO was 34, which would have BARLEY passed me with todays current changes. I mean a few RPM to high or low and i'd fail. I wanna also mention that I had a working air pump and a BRAND NEW high flow cat.

I just think its physically impossible to LEGALLY pass an FD these days. If anybody is passing smog with their FD's I'd really love to hear it. I may have to park this, cancel my insurance, file for non-op and buy a second car, because I dont think I can do this anymore."

"Just a heads up.....

Smogged the TTA yesterday. Unknown to me they lowered all the maximum allowable emissions by 30% across the board since last time I had the car smogged in 08.

MAX HC @ 15 - 80 ppm (74)
MAX HC @ 25 - 62 ppm (61)

MAX CO @ 15 - .52% (.11)
MAX CO @ 25 - .42% (.07)

MAX NO @ 15 - 549 ppm (527)
MAX NO @ 25 - 507 ppm (381)

As you can see, I just sqeeked by. Normally I'm running in the 90's, low 100's on the HC, but this time I added 3 gallons of E85 to a half a tank of 91 which brought them down - good thing or I surely would have failed."

Some post in this thread represent some of the worst that crapifornia has to offer.
Hopefully crapifornia won't plunge into the ocean before I am out of here.
When that happens all the liberals in the bay area and abroad can pass more draconian
laws for the emissions and exhaust on thier motor boats and the plastic content on life-rafts.

I browsed through some of the articles but I'm not sure about the Cheese and Rice part.
The articles I did browse through did make me want to puke however.

If the courts don't do us in, CARB will.

The opposite of Progress is Congress.
Government is not solution, it's the the problem.

Cap and Trade is the Federal version and than you have California's version AB32. This is where they will charge you carbon tax. In California the plan is to put a carbon filter on your home to measure your carbon emission and then tax you on it.

Compliments of CARB, EPA and the AQMD.
