I tried a bunch of cheaper ones. Unless you want a pan hanging 1-2" below the crossmember, get a Retro LSX pan or the modded pan from S&P.

This is the retro LSX pan on my 68 Camaro with LS3 VVT.

I think the new S&P pan is cheaper.

98-02 f body pan on my 68 Camaro. Hooker plates, pan clears everything with no modifications.

There's always the GM parts muscle car conversion oil pan out there. IIRC it's the H3 pan but dont quote me on that. I know it doesn't hang as low in a Second gen Camaro as a stock LQ4 pan. It clears the cross member but hangs about 1.5" lower than an F-body pan.

Apples to Apples buying the kit will save you some cash VS finding a new or used F-bady pan. Everyone seems to want an arm and leg for them unless you get a decent deal. GMPartDirect.com has these pans for $125 + shipping and that includes the 5 qt pan, pickup, pick up o-ring, baffles, and gasket, dipstick and dipstick tube. I dont recal if it comes with the mounting hardware though. PArt number is 19212593

If you go to Summit or Jegs they will have it too and it's a variant of the GM part number. Summit PT# is NAL-19212593 Jegs PT # is 809-19212593

They also list the dimensions on the Jegs site too, Hope this helps.

i have a 67 camaro and in my current engine i have a truck pan on it but it hangs quite low. however in my new turbo engine im building for it im using the h3 alpha pan because its the same as the truck pain but a little shorter which is perfect for the first gen fbody. it was like 130 buck and comes with baffle, pickup tube, gasket bolts and all i think even dipstick but not for sure. its even called the ls retrofit oil pan kit on gmparts direct. if u need the part number google it or shoot me a pm i got it wrote down somewehre. mine should be coming in tuesday so ill let u know
