Well it started and ran for about 20 minutes today, went to eat, and it won't start now.

But its mechanically complete, so I put it on the ground.

And this happened.

This is as low as she goes. It trapped my 3.5" floor jack under the frame rail.

tomorrow going to the tuner to work out bugs

Cool

It runs.

Minor wiring and vacuum leak issues.

Quick file upload several tweaks of the file.

Took it out for a quick datalog and it pulls really hard.

So, as I assumed I would have to, I raised it up about 1.5". Its low, but quite drive-able.

I took it to my good friend, and lsx swap king aknovaman. He had a tune flashed to it, and we were on the road in less than a couple hours. I can't thank him enough!

This means that I'll make our annual cruise next weekend!!

I've put about 30 miles on it so far, and gave it its first bath in nearly two years.

Here are a couple pics I snapped before putting it to bed.

It still needs some small things, but the major stuff is taken care of!

Congrates on getting it on the road. It looks awesome. I always liked the look of those wheels on our cars.

Thanks guys! Its been a long time coming, but I'm glad I took the time to do everything I did. She left me stranded yesterday - a piece of PVC i was using to join a radiator hose distorted and let the clamp loose. Put a piece of galvanized pipe in there and we were off to the races.

I almost forgot, I weighed it yesterday. With roughly a half tank it weighs 2750# Without me. With me, its about 2930.

Here's some pictures that my buddy snapped last night with his DSLR

and a video he made

Enjoy!

LOL well the car made it 4 days and 100 miles. I only launched it twice, and the rear is howling.

Time to start shopping!!!

That would be baller. However, I'm playing with one of my other toys that weekend. We're going to load up and head to Waynoka to ride some sand!

nice job on the dash-- i have a small crack in mine and never thought of bedliner to get the texture back-- looks ok in the pics- how is it in person?

now if ls engines were around cheap 15 years ago i might have one in mine-- i was #2 on hybridz to do a 5.0 car after Dan in Fl..
i havent been on there in a long time -- was SCCA.

just wondering why you went thru all the work for that gastank and didnt use a stock 280z efi tank?

when the 5.0 dies i might consider this swap.. for an all alum ls engine for less weight.

Its not perfect, but TONS better than it was. It will need redone to be "show quality"

I wanted to run true duals out the back mainly. Plus the other tank had been sitting for a while and had some varnished fuel in it.

Located a rear end and axles a couple hours away. Gonna put a new u-joint in the PS axle to limp it to the salvage yard to buy parts lol. Trying to save some money on gas.

Other than some gut-wrenching sounds from the rear, the car did phenomenal yesterday on the cruise. I drove it 75 miles, and even got a few good races in. Raced a stock ls1 fbody, put about 4 cars on him from a 30-130 roll. Raced a heads/cam Trans am, he put about 2 cars on me from the same roll. Also raced a 600+ WHP c5 z06. He put about 3 cars on me. It definitely surprised some people, and put a lot of smiles on.

All from a 5.3L truck motor and stock f body cam?
Take it to the COOP grain truck scales and weigh that thing.
