Modified stock k member? Built your own mounts?

Yes stock k frame. I had to notch the right front corner for clearance. I used steel plate to fab motor mounts on the engine and used the steel mounts from a 1971 chevy truck turned up side down and bolted the the factory k frame. After the engine was fitted to the K frame I removed the engine and welded steel plates into the notched area of the K framed to ad the strength back that was lost when it was cut.

Yes I have more pics.....But you have to keep in mind this is a $500 rolling Chassis. I plan on painting the hood and doing some over all body work. I will be taking it to the local 1/8 mile drag strip this April. I can't wait to see how quick a bone stock LS1 can go in a 2900 LB mustang "Driver included" with a 4.30 gear and a 3500 stall speed converter. This car doesn't even have headers just F body manifolds and some short 2 1/2 inch pipes. I hope to see high 7's on motor and high 6's with a 150 shot of spray.

Looks fine to me for $500 ....you should be close to your ET goals too IMO. Function over form is always good in my book. I usually worry about looks last when i build my cars anyways.

Red face gettin old thread but ohwell

I also used the stock 4cy k member and flipped the 4 cyl lower mounts, and built my own uppers out of 3/8s steel plate. i flipped my stock truck manifolds for turbo. not much fab work has been involved. did my own harness too! so far i dont even have $1200 in the car including engine, car, harness etc.

but im also a believer in the saying "built not bought" ive had zero help on this project, absolutly zero help! you can do it. have faith and grab your tools and get to work!

Default Z28 column

How do you do the key or ignition part. Can you use a f body steering column?
I plan on using the cluster as well

Default It all depends

My lm7 swap into my foxbody is right around 8 grand and rising. It all depends on the power output you will be looking for and any ideas for forced induction you may have.
