Buy a cheap angle finder from Harbor Freight and stick it on the back of the output shaft straight up and down. It should read 3 degrees. No need to shim it. Once you mash the pedal on the right the angles along the driveshaft will change either up or down during its entire life. Your rear end will try to twist up towards the trunk pan and the trans is twisting sideways somewhat. All this in a normal driving situation. At rest put it at a negative 3 degrees and call it a day. What about the pulley situation? How are you going to run the wire harness through the firewall? Grommet? Which one? Keep up the good job, now get back to work we want to see this machine a runnin'!!!

I dont blame you on the tank. I sent my Spectra back yesterday. I will modify the old tank which is only a year old and probably has 100 miles on it. I cannot believe my car has been down without an engine for almost 9 months. I told myself once it was painted I was going to drive the wheels off of it. That lasted a whopping year and here I am. Seems you will be up and running shortly. Did you ever figure out the pulley alignment issue? Take care and good luck.

I cant wait to get to drive mine either. Summer is fast approaching!!! I did have a couple of questions for you, did you get the radiator inlet swapped out or did you buy another radiator? If you did buy another what did you buy? And I have a suggestion for you. The 6 cyl. gas pedal needs the end heated and flattened out if you are using the Lokar cable. The cable comes with a cross pin in one end. This is the end that connects to gas pedal. I was going to just slide the cable through it but decided to flatten the pedal so the holes now faces left to right instead of fron to rear. this way you can use the cross pin as it was intended. I will post some pics on my thread hopefully by the weekend. Keep this project moving as we may have to all meet up on here and cruise/drag. I am in NC and I am unsure where everybody else is since noone puts it on their profile.

Even though this has been debated and is probably not the primary choice for most, I am using the OEM style fuel line. It is just like the factory has installed on cars since back to who knows when. It is nylon but not exactly what most think of when you say palstic hose. This stuff is durable and yes heat resistant and wear resistant. It is simple to install with the right tools and easy to maneuver. I think it is good to -50 degrees and I cannot remember the high side. They make all of the connectors to make installation easy and also make a crimp on clamp for added reassurance. It will hold well more pressure that will ever be exerted on the lines form a 60psi system. I purchase every fitting and 25' of line for around $100.

Steve check out Speedway Motors aluminum radiators. They have a double pass with both inlet and outlet on the passenger side in different width for $179 and they have the matching dual Spal fans and aluminum shroud for $229. Afco is coming out with a new line of shrouds and Spal fans shortly so I am waiting just a week or so to see when they are available. These radiators are not the highly polished ones like the BeCools or the Griffiths but they are also about $600-800 cheaper. Speedways tech department so far has answered all of my questions and are available 7 days a week I believe.

Here is the link for the radiator. If it doesnt work, go to Speedway Motors and type in the search bar "double pass radiators" and it will come up.

Take notice that the measurements given for the radiators is including the tanks and the fan shrouds only measure for the core. The tech at Speedway told me to subtract 5" to get the core width. This is what I have come up with so far. Get a radiator that is 26" overall minus the 5" to get the core width that gives 21". Now look at these fans and shroud. This is the shroud with the Spal fans. Look in the details and it will specify this.

My fuel rail is the early one with 2 lines, send and return!Just wondering if I'm better of with it or going back to a single line setup with the filter regulator that S&P sells?any thoughts???

I am using the single line with the 99-04 corvette fuel filter/regulator. I got it from Rock Auto for $33. As far as the rail, I am using what came on my intake. I have the LS3 intake and it only has a single line.

I just bought that same fuel filter regulator from Amazon I paid $35.25 and they offered it with free shipping, I thought it was a good deal, you can put in the keywords at Amazon.com (wix 33737) Good luck

I finally got around to take a couple of pictures of the modified gas pedal. Notice the end is straight where as your new pedal will be bent at 90 degrees. Also notice I triangulated the two sections together. Prolly not needed but after looking at the crappy butt weld, more like a spot weld from the factory I decided to add weld there and brace it.
