Can you reuse the steel gasket for the water pump on a LQ4

I have a 2007 LQ4 going in a 1980 Trans am, I am using the corvette accesories, do I buy new gaskets for the water pump or can I use the origanals. Thanx

I've replaced the water pump 3 times on my 99Z and one of the times it was only the gasket leaking. Why take the chance? I think they are like 12 bucks a piece at the stealership. Bill

They are O-ring gasket.. can be reused if still in good shape... but inspect and replace if you think they look bad, cracked, ripped, etc..

They're supposed to be reusable, but they're also known to leak. I always replace them. Them and the oil pan are the only ones I replace as a rule, except for ones that are supposed to be replaced like head gaskets.
