Phil how close would be too close? I just went around over the weekend and cleaned up the wiring and had to pull wires going to the drivers side of the trans away from the header when going down the firewall. I didnt notice the brake lines in that area being very close maybe 3/4" away. I know I could fit my hand in between them when I was manuevering the wires away.

Got intake pieces and madrel exhaust bends
The bends were $35+$25 for shipping not bad I dont think for 10 pieces
Made a super rough mockup of a box. Need the carve the hole in the box to put the intake tube closer to the radiator to make even spacing between radiator and alt. Any pointers welcome. Going to try to mount the steering resivour to the outside lower section of the box somewhere hidden but still higher then the pump.

Tootperformance on ebay. He sells them in 2"-4" I bought the 3". I am running a 90* rubber elbow at the TB? I guess I could have run a metal 4" elbow and 2 silicone sleeves to attach it all but I didnt think there was much of a difference.

Ha thanks, No problem. Yea stupid ecu issues are holding me back now. Bought a used ecu and sent it to Current Performance to flash it with the correct base tune. He tried hptuners and gm tech2 and it wont take any flash so now Im waiting for it to ship back then Ill ship it back to where I bought it for an exchange then it all starts again.

At idle, there will be no air flow between the lines and the header. I would say the brake fluid in that area will almost be equivalent to the temperature of the headers.
If you have an infrared pyrometer (or borrow one), you could take the surface temp of the brake lines after a run and while the truck is at idle.

The ends are whatever is stock on the waterpump. The upper hose is 88-91 Buick Lesabre upper radiator hose and the lower is a 94-95 mustang 5.0 upper radiator hose. Found out about the hoses in a section of the s10 forum I belong to.

All hoses and lines are hooked up except the powersteering resivour. I mounted it in the passenger fender so not sure how it will do with it being so far away from the pump but its higher then the pump and the lines will be also so hopefully itll be ok. Maf bung is welded in by a local welder.

Thanks Jimbo, Been long road. Tried the test fire on the last weekend of June only to find out the Ecu I picked up from Schram Auto was messed up and wouldnt accept a flash from GM so I had to send it back for a replacement which Im still waiting on. Hopefully soon!

Air filter came in. Tried a slightly larger KN but it was just too big so went the next size down and went with a Airaid SynthaMax filter, Doesnt require oiling so thatll be nice.
Worked on the exhaust for a bit. Would 90* bends after the cats be bad? It would be easier then 45s on the driverside crossover, They're madrel bends but if its still a big restriction Ill make 45s work.

Worked on the exhaust just have to cut about 12" of straight for between the cutout and muffler. Ill build tailpipes for it later this week. Might need more elbows to do so though.
