Default 10's in a 6.0 Chevelle, what's it take?

Going to start piecing together the parts to build a 6.0 for my 1970 Chevelle. Going to be a DD but want to hit the 10's, what's the best route to go about doing this?
Going to try and keep it NA and definitely will keep it pump gas. Carb or injected? If I go injected I will go with 4L60E, if carb then 700R4. ALL info will be MUCH appreciated. Thanks

Cool, 83 hits on this post and no input?

From reading other threads, sounds like the 4l80e would be a better/strong trans?

4" crank, mast motorsports shaved l92 heads, custom cam, +30 over pistons, 6.125 rods, lsxr intake manifold and throttle, 4000 stall converter, 4:30 gears should make for a nasty combo.

First get that car some Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers, go on a diet......

Meaning weight reduction will be your friend here..... Try to get it down to under at a min 3500lbs with you in it.....
You don't need a dick dong, godzilla cam, but it will be a lot easier if you can cut the weight.... Small things add up......
At 3800-4000lbs+ your going to need to trap at a min 124+MPH with no slippage or spinning, I am talking about dead hook and go...
ET is all about the complete combination and the suspension needs to be in order....

Enough about the diet...... My question is what is your budget? As I say in my signature, it is hard to out run money $$$$$$$$$$$

Kinda of buying as I save, if there's a part I need I'll just save up to get it. Can't dump a bunch of cash at once just 'cause I don't have it and the wife would probably make me sleep in the turtle (bench seat is comfy though).

Definitely putting her on a diet. Front fenders are fubar'd from previous owner so was going with fiberglass on those, their cheaper than NOS ones anyways, and a glass cowl hood since previous owner ripped off the bolt on cowl on the stock hood. Probably a SS hood but maybe stock, love the sleeper look.

How about a stock ls6 cam, a single 76mm turbo, meth and a 4L80 trans or TH400 with 3.23 gears? More streetable.

Yea, would like to keep in n/a so I don't have to buy forged internals, special cam, etc.

You will need around 550rwhp and a reliable drivetrain.

My single turbo 6.0 4L80E 3.42 gear 3500lb Nova runs 10.70 at 131 with wheel spin for the first hundred feet. 600 to the wheels.

Either way you go, your going to be speding some money. Pick up a nasty cam out of the classifieds, get some good heads, big stall, EFI, let her rip.
Or go FI, keep the ALL the driveability and use a stock engine with a 76mm turbo and low boost.

Sorry, didn't see the na part. Do you need a special cam? Forged pistons would probably be good but I think this is being done with stock bottom end and good rod bolts.(assuming turbo)

Hmmm, will have to do my research on that. Would love to run the turbo setup, just think they look badass but just assumed n/a would be more reliable. ARP bolts will be used wherever possible though.

I know with nitrous they make special cams, didn't know if they did for forced induction also. Forged insides would be sweet but i know the bank account can't afford that and would rather do it before the motor goes in. So, if turbo can be done with stock bottoms, then I may go that route.

You could get in the high 10s with a 6.0 NA without a problem. No need to go FI. Race weight around 3400-3500 lbs, l92 heads, good sized cam to match heads, 4l60e built with a 4000ss yank and 3.55-4.10 gears and suspension work should be good enough for it, jmo. Stay inj imo *** well. gl
