It is actually a little bit involved as there are many variables, I have used Denny's Driveshafts you can google them and on their website you can download a questionnaire that you have to fill out completely and with everything that is asked on that questionnaire you are pretty much guaranteed to get the right set up the first time, you even have to sign off on it and fax it to them so that there is no room for error, about the only thing that isn't asked on the questionnaire is the wifes breast size, Just kidding on the last bit, good luck

You measure from the pinion yoke to the seal of the transmission. You will want to measure from the face of the yoke where the straps bolt on but do not include the straps. You will also want to measure when the yoke is flat. Flat as in the bearing caps would be side by side left and right. Whoever modifies your existing driveshaft should know how much to take off. If not your at the wrong place. You will want 1" of travel once the shaft is in and the suspension is preloaded. You should also measure the length with the suspension preloaded.

I'm pretty sure I'm using these guys as I have a Jag IRS in my car and they have the yoke for it, but whether you use them or not, they have great "how to measure my driveshaft" diagrams for all the different types of shafts.

From center of pinion yoke to face of trans tail shaft with car sitting on all 4's, add an extra 1" for travel. If drive on lift is unavailable, you can use 4 of those mini ramps.
