ok just as the head line states. i am in the proscess of putting a ls1 from a 2000 z28 in my 07 x runner. it came factory with a 4.0 v6 with m6. which was pretty quick for a v6 and a truck. but me being a gear head and loving chevy power i had to go for it.

1 started by pulling weak v6

as you can see i cut out stock mounts and welded in new

boxed in mounts for strength and cosmetics

Is this a 2WD truck?

I have an '07 Tacoma as well (4x4, V6, Auto), and the thought has crossed my mind many times.

yes its a 2wd it is the one with the body kit from factory.

here is the pass side mount. i have tons of room on both sides of the eng. but finding lt headers to clear everything is impossible. but i went with a set of pacesetter lt headers for a f body

Roger that...didn't know if you could even get the x-runner in 4WD, and is why I asked. Very cool swap in my book.

had to fab up cross member for trans. wanted to use stock location because there is 2 supports that bolt from frame to x member, it kinda acts like sub frame connectors. i know it dont look the best but it is damn sure stong enough. whos gonna be under my truck....they will all be behind....fords at least.

as far as fuel goes, i had to upgrade pump in tank to a walbro 255. and ran all ss braided lines and used a c5 vette filter/regulator

Looks badass man. Got any pics of the whole truck. I've heard these things can really handle with a few mods.

my truck came drive by wire but the ls1 is dbc so i used lokar pedal and cable.

running 4l60e for now, using ss braided lines with a flexalight trans cooler. im kinda tired of changing gears all the time. the traffic where i live is crazy!!!

i know everything looks dirty so while i was waiting on ups to deliver more parts i started to do some spring cleaning. and painted eng. bay eng and some other things on my truck.

oil filter was a little to close to header for my likings so i relocated it up front, which also makes for a easy oil change. used -10an lines and fittings.

tapped oil bypass for auto meter gauge. also tapped water pump for gauge.

custom gauge pod.

for the shifter i am using a lokar floor mount in the stock location so it looks like a stick shift at first glance.

for exhaust i am running 3" true duals through a magnaflow x, then to a dual in dual out magnaflow muffler. i know the muffler has a x built in it but if i wanna ever change mufflers the x pipe will already be there. and turning down before rear axle. later on i plan on running out the back like a c6 vette. still waiting on the harness to get here. i ordered it form efi connection. going to have efi alchemy tune it when it is done. still need to have drive shaft made also. other than that its a slam dunk!!! hope you all enjoy.

X2 on a sweet swap, I've always liked the look of the X-Runner myself. That thing is going to haul ***. Theres so much room in that engine bay, do I see a turbo build in its future?

thanks, no turbos. not a big fan of them. its like a 2 stroke and to unpredictable to me. i like a supercharger if i go boosted. but plans are h/c/i/tb/stall/ bigger maf. not sure on cam yet prob a texas speed ms3. fast 102 intake. would really like input on cams and heads that will make good power and have a nice crisp lope like the ms3. also plan in a irs swap froma a vette or 03-04 cobra. i know i know a ford part in my truck....but we all know that the ford rear end is one of the best out there. but the powerplant SUCKS lol

Big fan of the x-runner style, and with an LS1 you have the entire package...shall we call it the lsx-runner?

thats exactly how she is gonna be badged. i need to find someone who makes custom badges. i like the look of the zr1 badge but want it to say ls1 on the fenders and then a lsx-runner one for the tail gate.

i kinda figured i would catch hell on here for putting a ls1 in a toyota. but i see you guys actually like the truck.

Catch hell? No, way! The truck is awesome. Now if you were putting the 4.0 in a 2000 z28 things might get rough.

Sweet project dude! Keep up the good work!

You're not really going to run that plastic oil line for the pressure gauge, are you?
200* oil spraying about on your legs and crotch, is not prosperous.

Been done for years and years and years. It not like its a fuel pressure gauge, the oil lines dont just burst they are built for it.

No, typically they don't spontaneously burst. They will however rupture a great deal easier than the better copper lines, if given the opportunity.
