Default V6 Silverado 5.3 Swap

I've been looking for this, but can't seem to find the answer anywhere! What I have is a 99 silverado with a 4.3 V6. I'm wanting to swap the V6 out with a 5.3. What I can't figure out is, if I have all the pieces (5.3, harness, PCM, non-swapable hanging parts), is this basically a "plug and play" swap?

I read somewhere that the V6 PCM is the same...would simply need re-flashed. However, the PCM is actually an older style V6 ECM (four connections to the harness). If I got an engine with a matching PCM, would the rest of the truck's wiring work with this?

The truck is a "new body style," not one of the older body style trucks made in 1999.

Thanks!

Mojo

You will need a V8 PCM..aswell as V8 Wiring..I dont see if you got a V8 Fuse Box with it why it wouldnt be a plug n play..
