Default water pumps

I have read about the different front drive systems for the LS. I understand that the truck, vette and camaro all have different harmonic balancers. Are all the water pumps and pulley able to work with any balancer?
Is the offset in the balancer or are there different offsets in the water pump pulley? Thanks, Scott!

Water pump are interchangeable (for the most part). the Pulley are offset to match the Balancer of choice. I've read that many have some success in mix and match, this is due in part to the pulley being wide enough to handle the belt being off set some.

There are different inlet/outlet locations on the pumps. Which can cause interferance with other Accessoires and Throttle Body, etc.

What front accessory setup do you currently have and what changes are you planning to make or problem areas to work around ?

For example if you go to autozone and get a replacement water pump for a 99 camaro SS, you will get a waterpump with a double wide pulley. It will work with the Corvette/CTSV (shortest set up), or the Camaro/GTO (the middle set up). The truck set up is kinda WAY out there by it self, but is the same depth as the 2010 and up Camaros interestingly enough. I am one of those that have to mix and match because im using an engine plate that moves the water pump out .250. So im hoping to run the universal water pump with a camaro crank pulley, and that will give me the flexability I need. Hope this helps. Eric L

Scotty ATI has a nice list of their balancers that may help you out. Try this link,

The L99 camaro water pump does line up with the truck balancer but one thing to remember is the outlet for the top hose is on the driver side and not the passenger. The LS3 camaro water pump is the same as the new LS3 corvette and has the narrow pulley. It must be used with the LS3 camaro/corvette balancer. Its outlet is also on the driver side.
