2010/2011 wiring diagrams? 6l80e Lockup and Shifting? Hi all, does anyone have or know where I can get a 2010/2011 truck wiring diagram for a 5.3l/6l80e combo?
Also, is there going to be a wire in the harness that goes to lockup control for these years?
What is the remedy for shifting a six speed transmission?

When you convert the harness to stand-alone.the tcm runs the transmission.sure,you need to wire in the brake switch to unlock the converter,but thats goes with any conversion.the brake switch signal is in the J1 connector,circuit 6311,pin 9,lt.blue/wht wire.

The transmission can be shifted by almost any shifter that will control a 4L transmission. All the trans really cares is whether it can be placed in park through drive. All lower gears can be accessed through a tap-up/tap-down switch. Yes, there is a wire in the harness that goes to a switch on the brake to tell it when to come out of lockup. You will have to replace your brake light switch that has a second set of contacts that controls the lockup.
John Spears at Speartech can make you a tap-up/tap-down interface module that hooks directly to the transmission, just like the Corvette hook up. This will allow you to manually control the up and down shift of the trans with a pair of normally open switches. I have one of his modules in my Chevelle wagon and it works perfectly. You will have to modify the shifting parameters in the computer for it to work correctly, but John can tell you which parameters to change, or do it for you.
Keep in mind, that the trans will only work with a ECM that is CAN protocol. The trans computer is actually in the pan of the trans and has to talk to the ECM via the CAN connection to properly shift and operate. If the engine and trans both came out of the same vehicle, than there is no problem, but if you are trying to use an earlier 5.3 and ECM on a 6l trans, it will not work.
