You got me all excited g-body, and then I noticed there wasn't a link for thirdgen's, lol. That's okay though, it's good that you put the info out there to help those in need

Printable LS1 Wiring Harness Guide
So, I was searching for guides on converting an LS1 wiring harness to work with an older car. I found all sort of great guides. BUT... nothing was really that printer-friendly. So, I took one of the better ones that I found and made a PDF of it. Hopefully, this will help you out.

G Gorce Crossmember & 4L60e
Got my LS1 & 4L60e in my '78 Cutlass tonight.. Finally.. First off, the trans dapt swap plates SUCK!
But I'm over them.
Go to install my crossmember, got the G-force from Summit.. And it's not working out right.. Only way I got it to line up with the trans mount and not hit the back edge of the pan, was to use the front bolt hole on the cross member and the last bolt hole on the frame.. Problem is, the frame ends after that last bolt hole. So I can't drill for the last two bolts in the cross member.. SO now I'm stuck.. I don't feel safe just having one bolt on each side b/c it can twist b/c half the x-member bracket is hanging off the rails.. I dunno if I got the wrong one somehow, or I need the extension bracket, or I need to make my own extension bracket..
Just wondering if anyone else has run into the same issue and how you solved it... ??

harness questions on 6.0 and 5.3
I've dreaming up the idea of swapping the 5.3 in my2000 z71 with a 6.0 its getting to be a tired truck at 257k. Question is is there any differences between the two as far as engine harness. And can the old ecu from the 5.3 be flashed to accept the 6.0 engine.. or would I be better off to get motor harness and ecu from the 6.0. If that's the case will that harness plug into my current plunge in the fire wall and transmission plunges. Truck already has a 4L70z trans upgrade..

or look over on www.lt1swap.com at the info he has there. He has spent 8 years compiling info and programming ecu's and building harnesses. He is a polite young man who will help you as much as he can. His phone number is on the site also if you want to call him up and pick his brain after 5 P.M. central time Monday thru Friday.

He helped me with mine and flashed my ecu.
Absolutely zero problems!!
Plus, at $75 including return shipping, he is the cheapest ECU programmer I have found anywhere.....

Cost for each project can vary by as much as a couple thousand bucks. So many factors affect the final cost that there is only one way to have two projects be exactly the same cost side by side. That way is to start with identical cars that are totally gutted.. Even then, unless you are building two identical projects, you can and will have variations from each car. Engine type, cam, headers, heads, intake, fuel system, transmission, rear end, tires, wheels, paint and body work... and SO MANY MORE options.....

I make the conversion parts, and do conversions to put ls 4.8 5.3 5.7 6.0 6.2 7.0 engines in the Porsche 911 Carrera chassis cars 1972 - 1994 bodies. I have installed the lsx motors in lots of other gm applications as well but specialize in porsches. from stock, mild, to wild full blown tube chassis race cars.
