Default 1974 Stingray Convertible

I am going to install an LS1/ T56 in my 74 Stingray. I am researching other posts and sites where people have already done the conversion. I hope to post pics as I go.

Congrats. I am working on a 73 Vette to LS1/4L60E. Pulled the SBC and 4-speed several weeks ago. Almost done pulling the interior ("mission creep" has set in). Going to trial fit the LS1 in a couple of weeks.

Hodge,
Are you going with a T56 or are you keeping your 4 speed. I have been reading a lot about the swap and have a lot of work ahead of me well I guess you do to.
Thanks,
Tim

Like I said LS1/4L40E. For decades I wanted a fine spline/TH400 output shaft Muncie. What do I do when I finally get one? That is right, pulled it and sold it. Main reason I am going automatic is for my wife. She can drive a stick but REFUSES to drive the 2000 Hardtop. Besides I can always convert it later if I want. No prob. A professor once said, "Smart people don't read.". She was right. I know I sure don't pay attention to details.

I'm going to post some pics of the interior teardown tonight.

Here is my build so far. I am not looking to have a gob of power just some torque for fun. I have an 04 vette LS1 and a hotcam kit to put in it with 241 heads and an LS6 intake with a ported and polished throttle body. Again I am not looking for tremendous power just want a little more than stock. I am after good cruising mpg with some fun power in between. My car has Vette Brake and Products performance plus suspension and handles very well. My gears are 3.55:1 with a T56 six speed.

BTO can build u a xmember for ANY swap. They need to know what engine mounts u are using OR where the bellhousing face will be in relation to the stock engine/trans. I plan on putting my engine in the stock location. Worst case, I can cut new mount adapters on a water jet at work.

Does anyone have a f body tension pulley and power steering bracket. I need these parts. I should have the other brackets coming in the mail unless the deal falls apart. Thanks
Tim
