Ok #3 it is if you say so. If you haven't had problems then I'll tap it there

i put mine about where you have #2 marked. I'd also suggest going as big as you can. I'd say at LEAST -8 I went with -10

Alright I'll probably do #2 then. That's what I wanted to do and I'm doing -10 also. Is that just pipe dope you used on your threads?

yea is just pipe dope. I was trying to find more pics so you could see it better in the car. it also depends on how the pan fits in the truck. really any of those places would work fine but for me you #3 was too far forward to get to because of the K-member. and you don't want to go too far back because of the starter.

I have a 90* AN fitting coming off of the one pictured going toward the front of the car and then straight up to the bottom of my turbo.

if you dig through my thread (link in my Sig) I might have put pics there (I linked everything from Photobucket and I can't see photobucket pics here at work)

good luck with the build... take LOTS of pics.. I have 561 pics of my build on the GTO and 190 on my 59 Galaxy and all I did to that car is put air ride on it.

it helps you remember what you did and why and it's also helpful when other people ask how you did something

Alright man thanks alot for the info I never even thought about the k member and I think #2 might get in the way of the k member on the s10's. I might look into tapping the front courner of the pan too as stated earlier as long as I don't run into the harmonic balancer. And trust me, I plan on taking tons of pics lol.

Are you planning on driving this thing daily year around? I'm also in wisconsin, I'm building a 95 scabs box with a 6 liter and a t56. I'm planning on making it my year around daily.

Sorry for the late reply kory didn't catch this one. I want to try my drivers manifold flipped facing down like it is first, then if that hits the control arm I have another truck manifold on hand to flip it the other way so it will be upwards and hopefully it don't touch the master cylinder or booster. this will just be a summer truck that will be mostly street driven but taken to the track every now and then so no winters for her.

you might want to look at the way I did mine. its simple and doing it the way we did mine you don't have any exhaust in front of the motor heating things up and taking up valuable space.

If I ran it under the bell housing I would need to buy a drivers side shorty header. You got away with one of the stock manifolds and I don't know a damn thing on making a log. I'm going to have my friend do all my welding cause I'm horrible at it.

Interesting build. I think you will be suprised with the amount of power it makes with double digit boost levels. I may have overlooked, but what fuel are you planning to use? I did a 6.0L build this winter that makes 822 wheel hp thru a locked up 4l80e at 15psi with E85. I am just down the road in Bemidji.

Bemidji ain't too far away. You go to brainerd or rock falls tracks? I'm Pretty sure I'll be suprised running 12lbs boost and hopefully hitting between 450-500 wheel horse. My cutlass is only about a 14 second car and that's the fastest car I've had so this will definitely be a blast. I plan on running 93 because i will be driving it quite a bit on the street and the only E85 is in Duluth. My whole system will be a 12 gallon cell in the bed with -8an feed and -6an return and for a pump I'm thinking a single bosche 044 like that red s10 did on here with the mpt70 but it's still debatable cause I'm not sure on the pump I want yet. I have siemens 60lb injectors (@42 psi) and fast fuel rails. Running jegs braided hose too so no aluminum bending or flare fittings.

That bosch pump should do the trick. I usually run at BIR or Sabin with my Cutlass. Do you plan to run the 2 bar speed density tune with HP tuners?

If you are only making 450-500 to the wheels with that much boost something's wrong. Make 535hp 558 tq at 8psi in my 6l on pump gas

I would like to do a sd tune with hp tuners but I'm kinda scared to do it myself. I am debating between that and Nelson performance tune me a computer. What do you prefer?

Haha I feel you man thanks I did what you did for years before I started this. Dont be afraid theirs tons of help and support on here and if you get to know people it helps. Anyone with common sense and some handy skills can do this. It ain't rocket science like I used to think it was lol.

I'm just trying not to get my hopes up for nothing. As long as it's around 500whp or more I'm happy haha. I wanna shoot for 10's but low elevens will make me happy.

I have done a few cars on SD now. If you ever made it over this way i could help you out. Are you planning on running a wideband and what are you doing for a harness?

If I could get it over there I would lol but I might just go and try it anyway. I got an aem wideband that I'm gonna use and I found a stand alone harness on eBay that o was looking into. Here's a link.
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=50373235732

alright so its taken me about a week to find time to finish the cam/spring swap because work, school, and the girlfriend take up ALOT of time lol. so here is everything step by step. enjoy.

first i got the valve covers, coils, and rockers off
Name: 100_0280.jpg
Views: 1291
Size: 64.8 KB

then i took the 3 cam bolts out and the timing gear out and dropped the chain in the pan
Name: 100_0282.jpg
Views: 1251
Size: 60.7 KB

then i took the 4 cam retainer bolts out and put 2 water pump bolts in the stock cam to get ready to take out
Name: 100_0284.jpg
Views: 1307
Size: 71.9 KB

now this is a shot of the pushrods all lifted up. i turned the cam a few times to push the lifters up and i knew none of them fell because the pushrods stayed up and are all even as well
Name: 100_0286.jpg
Views: 1259
Size: 51.1 KB

also, i picked up some magnets from wal mart to put on all the pushrods and duct taped them in place so they didnt fall
Name: 100_0287.jpg
Views: 1241
Size: 53.2 KB

gently spun the old cam as i slowly pulled it out of place making sure no lifters fell. if you look close, you can see the bottoms of all of the lifters
Name: 100_0289.jpg
Views: 1260
Size: 60.5 KB

oiled the hell of the 02 vette cam
Name: 100_0290.jpg
Views: 1249
Size: 57.0 KB

basically the same as taking the old cam out, but pushing it in instead of pulling it
Name: 100_0291.jpg
Views: 1252
Size: 51.4 KB

as you can see, the two dots are lined up. this is so the cam is timed properly. its a pain in the *** but better than ****** it up and having to redo all of it
Name: 100_0293.jpg
Views: 1277
Size: 50.8 KB

now that i got the cam all in place now and everything backtogether inside, its time to replace the stock vavle springs for some blue ls6 valve springs. here is a good shot of my proform tool i used. well spent $80
Name: 100_0295.jpg
Views: 1262
Size: 58.3 KB

now they are all in place. i forgot to mention i used the Jegs spark plug air holder and hooked it up to the air compressor to hold the valves in place so they dont fall when i swap the springs.
Name: 100_0298.jpg
Views: 1290
Size: 71.6 KB

rockers back on
Name: 100_0301.jpg
Views: 1231
Size: 55.9 KB

valve covers back on
Name: 100_0302.jpg
Views: 1301
Size: 61.8 KB

******* pissed!!! hate when this **** happens trying to install plugs
Name: 100_0306.jpg
Views: 1251
Size: 60.9 KB

another shot of the engine before i put the timing cover and everythinng else on
Name: 100_0307.jpg
Views: 1268
Size: 53.2 KB

and thats how babies are made ladies.
Name: 100_0312.jpg

next update coming this upcoming week when i put the ls6 coolant crossover pipe on. dont be too amazed lol

had the whole day off today and couldnt really run any errands because apparently everything needs to be closed on columbus day and my ls6 coolant block offs and crossover havent come yet so heres a little update that i did

brought out the propane torch, vise grips, and hammer and tore the PITA hose barbs out going tot he heater core. since i wont have heat in this truck, these will be tapped and blocked off
Name: fr_247_size580.jpg
Views: 1267
Size: 47.6 KB

now its time for the 3/8" npt tap on the left and the 1/2" npt tap on the right to do some work. heres what she'll look like after its tapped
Name: fr_248_size580.jpg
Views: 1261
Size: 35.3 KB

now i put some RTV on the plug threads and sealed it up from the outside so no leaks occur. good thing the color matches the engine so it doesnt look too out of place lol
Name: fr_249_size580.jpg

once the coolant stuff comes in the mail (hopefully tomorrow) ill have another update for you guys.
