update.. car is still on 6lbs.. never any full throttle pulls..untuned.. turbo was smoking for a while .. hooked up a pcv to crank case..cleared the smoke right up.. i have gotten two tickets past 1 month .i got clocked doin 101mph by a state trooper last month.. i wasnt even in it for long.. he let me go with a 74mph in a 45mph zone., $287.. few days ago was doin 86mph in a 55mph zone..he wasnt so generous..gave me full ticket..mandatory court appreance.. think he didnt like knoing i been drinking and i passed all four of his dui test.. .. so but i did learn my lesson.. for drinking.. not speedinggg..all theses tickets have held me up from getting it final tune..

Funny thing is, a lot of other people spend all this money on looks and brand name parts and paying for fab work. In the end who's having fun? He is. Look at the attitude when two rods crapped out, he probably dropped an F bomb here and there but, went out and found another motor. Back at it again and most likely still sleeps well at night. I, and I'm sure many others, envy this philosophy. Love it. Oh, and that sucks about the girl. Fun while it lasted, huh?

When you did the Ly6 with the turbo did you run the VVT or take it out? What caused the rods to go out?

i put in a ls3 cam.. when i assembled it it was my error putting it back togeather.. more than likly.. there was a scorged in the cylinder wall ..but it ran fine with it.. before..
this 5.3 motor idk if im going to install a aftermarket cam if i can find one for cheap.. if not stock cam will have to do.. i might go ahead install a second walbro 255.. and buy a 3 bar map sensor. i need a cam tho..

Put a LS6 cam it.
They are 150-200 used and work great.
I put one in my 4.8L...MUCH better then a stock cam.

I can attest to the ls6 cams performance na and look forward to seeing what it does turboed, that cam you picked up should give it a healthy exhaust note and some serious performance ... In for video!
