Exclamation 66 GTO Convertable 6spd

Hey guys... Just finished a local guy's car he's owned for 31yrs. He's only put 14,000mi on it in all those years.
I kept pestering him about doing a LS swap and we found a complete engine on here in the classified section out of a 99WS6 and 6spd/harness.

Sorry I didn't have time to make a build thread as I went together pretty quick once I had time to stay on it.

Used the stock F-body pan. Kwick Brackets for the alternator/powersteering

pump to get it up off the steering box.

Cut the crossmember down and put roll cage tubing down inside it then welded it all back up. Used the stock trans crossmeber... Plazma'd out
the center part to lower it a bit.

Nook&Tranny Engine mounts/plates with stock 67 sbc rubber mounts.

F-body stock manifolds... 2 1/2 exhaust and DynoMax Super Turbo's.

Just installed a CompCam kit 54-000-11
219/224 609/601 lift Made a nice tone and much more power above 2200

Car's a blast to drive even with the 3:23's

The back tires don't like to have traction anymore hummm Lol.

Below are some pic's...

Very nice, I am getting ready to do the same to my 67 Tempest convertible.

So what upgrades to the brakes did you do?

Thanks

Awesome car. If my next car is not a truck I want it to be one of those.

Thanks guys..... The front brakes and all bushings were upgraded last year (with old motor in still)

He purchased a power front disk brake conversion kit. I installed all that and put all new

front A-arm bushings in since several were pretty worn out. Stop's and rides much better

now. He was just out enjoying the car yesterday

With the Camshaft and no cat's in it and free flowing dual's it should be close to 400hp.

I was on the interstate the other day at 65-70mph I was at 1200rpm Lol... 3:23 gears

I'd guess the fuel milage on the highway would be mid 20's easy. In town I'd guess to be

high teens if you can keep your foot out of it
