Default DBW vs DBC...does it matter which one?

Trying to find a suitable 5.3 for a turbo conversion on my Regal. I've found DBW and DBC engines for sale. Here are 3 examples I've found so far.

1) 03' 5.3 DBW complete all accessories, ECM, Harness and Pedal 118K $750

2) 07' 5.3 DBC complete with accessories NO ECM or harness 27K $800

3) 05' 5.3 DBW complete accessories, ecm, harness, pedal 59K $1000

Does it matter if I get a DBW or DBC if I get the pedal with the DBW?

TIA

I would go with # 3 simply because it is the lowest mileage of the two complete setups. With #2, you will have over 1K in it after getting a pcm and harness.

Are you sure the 2007 was drive by cable? What was it from?

I agree, I would go with the lowest milage engine. You can make any of them drive by cable if that is what you want to do.

I don't know the answer, but here is some guidance from LT1Swap on how to tell.. http://lt1swap.com/cable_conversion.htm

I converted my 01 to DBC, the ecu had the driver chip..

The 411 red/blue PCM (1999-2003 varies by vehicle platform) can be programmed for either drive by cable or drive by wire. There are a few green/blue PCMs such as those from 2004 GTOs and 2003-200?7 Express vans that will work also but those were only 5.7 and 6.0L respectively you would have to tune more stuff for a 5.3. I would stick with the 411 red/blue if you are going to use drive by cable.
