well the C5 has an air filter on the end of the stock maf, corsa mufflers (on the car when purchased) and C6 Z06 wheels that I got cheaper than had I bought runflats for the stock wheels. The HP Tuners says its the easiest tuning software to use, I don't think so, but I no experience with it. Some things look easy but changing tables and fuel curves are tough. Although the engine isn't in the car running so I can't do too much. At this point I don't have a MAF for the 4.8, but when the turbos go on I have already downloaded a base speed density program, so there will be no MAF. Still researching and learning and collecting parts.

Default Sweet project!

Love the 70 body style the best but my 72' and 66' will do! Good luck with the project.

Well I've already bought the 2 t70s. I really like the look of the twin turbos. Not looking to make racecar horsepower, just to look cool when I go to the car show.

Does anyone know why MAF sensors are usually deleted and software is changed to speed density for forced induction engines?

From what I was told, you can only run up to about 500 hp with a MAF.
Anything over that and the MAF cannot support the tuning.

Also, I believe it might be simpler and more efficient to tune with speed density.

So what IAT sensor should I use? The '03 the IAT sensor and the MAF are together in one part?

GM syclone GM# 25036751 38 bucks

Its 3/8" NPT so find yourself a bung to weld into the pipe aswell. The other styles are a rubber grommet and I always see them duct taped and ziptied to the pipe due to popping out. Can't go wrong with threads!!

Nice, thanks for the advice. How about the calibration? Would it be the same as the one in the MAF?

You'll need to do a speed density tune. Find yourself a cobalt 2 bar map sensor. Or gm map 3 bar sensor if you plan on over 15psi. I am on my phone and cannot search a part number for ya but search in the forced induction section for those map sensor part numbers. The aem 2.5 And 3 bars seem to fail often. Gm ones are very reliable.

I have a 2 bar map to fit the truck intake. Got the part number out of Hot Rod Mag on their turbo build. Gave list of part numbers. I also have a speed density OS in my HP Tuners to put in once the turbos are on the engine. I have zero experience tuning, so when I get it all in the car I will need lots of help!

Just a little update. Things are a little slow at work so getting some funds is kinda tough right now. I did manage to get a MAF that I'm gonna use to run the engine on the stock tune untill I've collected the parts to put the turbos in the car. I also managed to get the spacer for the flat flexplate my wife got me for Christmas. The next big purchase I'm saving for is the Aeromotive A100 inline pump. Hoping to start the install in the next few weeks.

Progress isn't moving forward as fast as I had hoped it would. I keep doing little things though. I tapped the back of the right head for the mechanical temp guage sender and tapped the adapter by the oil filter for a mechanical oil guage as well. Wish I could get some money together for the rest of the parts so I can start the real work.
