Default 84 camaro?

What do I need to do to install a 6.0 into my 84 camaro? It is a 5 speed. Will the bellhousing bolt up. Will I need to change flywheels. What about the computer will it need any help since the tans is differant? I have EFILive.

Aside from the trans it should basicaly be motor mounts correct? I know it is slightly more complicated then that but I can over come those things. Just not sure what the computer will think and what it takes to get the trans to mate and work properly.

Thanks

Are you using the stock 84 5spd? If so I would look into changing that, its not strong enough. GM only put them behind the v-6's and 305's back then because they weren't even strong enough to put behind the 350's you could get in a thirdgen.

Sorry I don't have the answers to your questions.

You need f body accessories, oil pan, and intake manifold. The truck stuff doesn't fit. You'll need to research the wiring harness connections, install a good fuel pump, and get some sort of guages. Go to thirdgen.org and visit the LTX/LSX forum, read the stickies. I've done the swap, its not as easy as some imagine, but nor is it difficult.

The computer doesnt care what trans is behind it, as long as the program is set up correctly. For your application you would go with a manual transmission OS. I agree with FatFree, I would consider a different manual transmission if you want it to last.
