Default Ls2 radiator cooling fans

Installing a GTO LS2 in a 69 Camaro. Can the fans be controlled by the ECM just using relays or do I need a 06 fan relay module. Harness was reworked with a fuse block and relays for fuel pump, fans, and ECM. Engine starts and runs fans do not come on and I also have a fault code of P2122 throttle sensor low imput. Do I need a new position sensor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jeff

I run my fans via the ECM output using only 2 5-blade relays relays. Are you using 2 fans or one? If one, is it single or 2-speed? My ECM is an E40 and has 2 wires coming out of it, one for hi speed, the other for low speed. (Or one fan or both fans, however you want to do it.) My engine is an LS2 out of an '05 SSR.

I am using the stock 2 06 GTO fans. There are 2 wires from harness 1 each going to 2 separate relays. Using the stock 06 ECM. Thanks for your reply. Jeff

Its pretty simple then. Assuming you want one fan to turn on and the both to run when very hot, as it would the OEM way, you just use the fan 1 wire coming from the ECM as the ground leg for your fan 1 relay and fan 2 wire from ECM as the ground leg of your fan 2 relay. The computer handles logic of when to turn them on and off.
