I have a 84 caprice coupe with a 5.3l swap. Finished swap car ran just fine. Now when I first start it car rough idles. Put in gear when I give gas it almost dies till I get off the pedal. It continues for a few seconds an then it runs fine with good throttle response. Could I need a different fuel pump. I originally put the pump that went with the donor vehicle which was a 05 Yukon. Any info would be appreciated.

Any codes? Sounds like a cold start issue, check CTS sensor readings. I've seen bad running problems with CTS sensors reading even a little out of range.
