Crack in the block where the starter mounts, pretty upset about it. Calling up my machinist tomorrow to see when I can get it to him to weld up. Truck starts coming apart this weekend.

I've seen a lot more L33 builds starting to surface lately. No trade, this puppy is all mine I hunted for a while to find a good low mileage pull out.

Engine is loaded up in the back of the truck, heading to the welder in the AM to get the crack fixed. On another note, I've ordered my air intake, mufflers, and my wiring harness should be coming in any day

Prices seem to be coming down on the l33. in reality I think they were far overpriced, unless your really cutting pounds they arent much better then any other 5.3. whats 150 lbs in a 3000 lb 350 horse set up?

Cept, its jsut cool to have one

Some updated from the past few days, things are starting to get rolling here.
Crack has been welded up...

Replaced the rear main seal gaskets since they were in such close proximity to the welding.

Then I threw the truck on stands, and the fun begins.

Doesn't look like much but the exhaust is off, driveshaft is out, whole front faschia is off, fluids drained. Hoping to get the engine pulled out before next weekend.

Great build, what A/C compressor are you using?

You can sort of see it in the picture of the oil pan on the engine. It's a Denso compressor from the Silverado it was pulled out from. The fittings attach a little more forward then like an fbody compressor, which helps them clear the control arm, the f-body ones tend to interfere with the control arm. If you want me to get a better picture of it or part numbers for you I can, just let me know.

The part number would be great, i would like to mount the compressor up top but i have the alternator there so im going to have to pull the engine back out to notch the frame.

15244321, that number is on the front of the pulley and what I used to search for an AC compressor on ebay. My pullout came with the same one but it was mangled. Here's a shot of some other part numbers...

Finally after 3 hours we wrestled that pile of scrap metal GM calls an engine out. Next thing to do is give the engine bay a cleaning and work on cutting my AC notch.

Part's will be flying through the door all week for this. Got some new stuff now though. eBay Silverado intake, saw someone else use it so I figured I'd give it a go.

And my magnaflow mufflers and T56 speed bleeder came in. Went for two 18" case magnaflows, the speed bleeder is from Speedway USA, was half the price of the tick performance unit, doesn't have the check valve though so I'll have to bleed it like you would brakes, but it makes it a hell of a lot easier to reach haha and I couldn't justify $60 for a speed bleeder I'll probably use only a handful of times. I'll save the money and just get a friend to help me lol

LPW Girdle, and some stainless v-band's with mild steel flanges for my modifying my manifolds.

Test fitted the motor, k-member does need to be notched with the holley pan, started that notch and need to start my AC notch, no pictures of that progress as of yet though.

Spent the day cutting up the plate, man do I need a bansaw. Welded it up, thought I did damn well for first time actually welding up a frame! Need to still cut the side pieces out and weld those in, going to do that tomorrow and start cutting the AC notch.

Fitted the engine to check oil pan clearance and mark for my ac notch. Oil pan has much more room now, I'll take pictures and post some of the pan clearance when I get the motor back in to test fit the AC notch clearance.

Finished pulling my interior out to, gonna work on a cover panel for the old shifter location tomorrow. Clutch and flywheel are on the engine now and the trans will be bolted up next time it goes in as well so I can cut the new shifter location.
