Default L92 throttle body/injector questions.

Looking for a little L92 guidance.

Going with a Texas Speed 229/244-629/615 cam. Stock heads/bottom end. Going into a 72 chevelle. “show car”/weekend cruiser. Going to use a 6l80 or 4l80e.

I know the LS3 intakes and L92 intakes are really good. But for looks, we’re thinking of going with a fabricated intake.

We know we’re making a sacrifice with the fabricated intake but it is what it is. Sadly there just aren’t a lot of other options. I think we’re hoping to stay with the E38 ecm that came with the L92.

Is it reasonable to use the L92 throttle body on the fabricated intake? If not, does anyone have a recommendation for a more appropriate throttle body? Not sure if we need a 102mm as the engine will be under 600hp.

Injectors, Will the stock L92 injectors supply enough fuel for around 500/550hp? If not, what injectors would be a better choice? Will the l92 injectors work with most fabricated sheet metal intake manifolds? Again, if we need to get new ones, which type of injectors would be a best fit?

Thank you for any advice!

I used a L92 TB DBW on a LS3 intake with the LS3 42 lb injectors. Small cam and it did 420 rwhp so close to 480 crank hp. Super easy to tune.
The fabricated intakes look so cool.

Look for a set of L96 injectors (12613412) 50lb/hr.

I swapped an L96 into my 1965 Cutlass and I am also using a set of the L96 injectors with the truck intake manifold on my 6.2L that I am installing in my 1973 F100.

Rock Auto has them for $20.49ea plus 5% discount with code 218333747196706319

I know you are going for looks on the fabricated intake manifold, but an LS3 intake manifold does not look bad at all.

Here is the L96 with the truck intake manifold on my 65' Cutlass for your reference

You don't need anything more than a 90mm LS3 throttle body.

I like the ls3 intake a lot. Unfotunatly, the buddy i'm doing the work for thinks its a bit too "basic" looking... :dunno: Thanks for the injector info.

Do you happen to know what size the L96 throttle body is?

Rather than go with a fabricated intake and possibly hurting performance why not have someone make you some custom engine covers, They look sweet and nobody else will have the same thing as you.
This guy can make them, He quoted me a good price and was going to let me help design them. Apparently we are no longer allowed to post facebook links.
Look up BH Custom Designs.
Maybe this will work Search Results BH Custom Desings

It is 87mm, which will also be fine for what you are doing.

Not a fabbed intake. Modded LS2 with stock LS3 coil covers. I did add metal plates over the top of the Corvette logo. Kind of makes it a bit custom. That engine is a sleeved LS2 stroked to 427 cubes. Did 490 RWHP with LS3 heads and 220/230 cam. Drove like a stocker until you punched it.
