OK finally got to work on it today...
First I picked up the engine from Synergy Motorsports in Fremont.
Looks clean
Then I hit the firewall and gaps with rust encapsulator from eastwood.
Then I used the gap filler and seam sealer for all the gaps and then hit the floor with a coat of rust encapsulator. I also installed the heating core for the last time... I'm so done with that thing it's not funny.
Probably won't get to work on it again until Sunday.

Finally got to put some more work in today because we had a half day.
wiring from dash moved over.
starting to assemble the dash and route the wires and brace witht he ac stuff.
Dash installed, gauges in.
Put in the AC controls, this was kind of a PITA because the cables are all so short.
and I finally cleaned the windshield lol...

Very nice project. When I bought my wrecked 00 TA I wanted to put the dash in my 69 Firebird. I wondered how hard it would be to use the 00 hvac housing so it's nice to see someone doing it. I put my 69 on hold for now but I'm debating using the newer dash because I don't like the idea of removing the VIN plate when cutting the old dash out.

The truck pan will hang 3 inches too low.The F-body pan will work but the engine will sit very close to the firewall. Not a bad thing but I do not know how it will affect the manual shifter location. There is an oilpan by Holley that looks like it will work well too and move the engine forward. Very cool project.Good Job!!

WOW, I am a bit in awe of you.
Just that tangle of wires from under the dash would be enough to make me run the other direction.
Now just swap in c5 front and rear suspension and I will marry you.

Got a few hours in on the car today.
First I got the glove box in and re-routed some wiring under the passenger side of the dash.
Then I cleaned up some dirt and stuff so I could put down the sound deadening material. I also ran some wires for the amp that'll be going in so I could pop the stereo in whenever I want.
Thermal-coustic (sp?) material from Eastwood.
start working the carpet in.
