97 Kouki 240sx LS1 build/clean daily --Lots of pics--
Hey Tech, as some of you may remember, I was previously building a 95 240sx ls1 but I did not like the way it turned out. Had someone make custom swap parts and he basically took the build over and I never got to work on it (hated having no control over MY car). Also, the quality of the build was not up to my standards... So I sold the car, the swap parts, and no longer associate myself with the guy.... starting over fresh
Info on the current build:
Chassis:
- Bought a clean, completely stock 97 s14 240sx. Kouki FTW
- (drove 10 hours to get this car... very hard to find a nice 240)
- base model, 4-lug, no sunroof, automatic
- absolutely no rust, no damage, no accidents
Engine/Drivetrain:
- stock ls1/t56 from an 04 GTO
- replaced ALL the gaskets with new GM gaskets
- FAST 78 intake manifold w/ stock TB
- stock fuel rails w/ fuel pressure gauge installed
- factory Hurst f-body shifter
- new Monster Stage 1 clutch w/ billet steel flywheel
- new slave cylinder
- ARP pressure plate and flywheel bolts
- ls6 oil pump
- ls2 timing chain
Suspension/Brakes/Wheels:
- RYO fully adjustable coilovers
- R33 GTS-T front and rear brakes w/ Hawk HPS pads
- 5 lug hubs to replace the 4 lug hubs
- 350z 17" wheels with new federal 595 tires
- GT Spec front and rear strut bars
Swap Parts:
- Fueled Racing swap kit
- Aeromotive 340 fuel pump
- Koyo aluminum radiator
- dual 12" fans w/ aluminum shroud
- custom 3" y-pipe to single 3.5" out w/ a Spintech muffler
- q45 VLSD diff
- Corvette FPR/filter
- custom engine wire harness
Cool Parts/Other:
- factory Euro kouki gauge cluster (reads to 160mph, US only reads to 120)
- replaced the interior with minty Kouki SE seats (gratify pattern), new OEM dark gray carpet, and uncracked black dash
- ARC titanium cooling panel

Put my coilovers on and drove the car for a couple months before taking the ka out.
put my strut bar on for fun lol
clean engine bay awaiting the ls1
koyo rad and fans installed
my Euro 160mph cluster
q45 diff, nice and clean
these should do for now, until I can get something wider...

my brakes
yeah, they're big enough
R33 brakes vs stock 240
the day I brought the ls1 home
tore it down to do a H/C swap, but decided to keep it stock and just replace all the gaskets, install a new ls6 oil pump, and ls2 timing chain
my brother sneaking pics of me
ls2 chain vs ls1
Moroso oil pan and stud kit installed
ls1 almost done, with my brother's s13 peeking in the back
made my air intake

Thanks everyone, I added some new pics. I wanted to throw a small cam in, but it just wasn't within my budget... I may spray it later down the road though after I get use to it and have some spare cash
Almost done, more to come soon if I get time to work on it between college classes and my work schedule.
